RCA Svideo to HDMI Converter, Composite CVBS AV RCA to HDMI Converter, RCA/S-video + R/L Audio Input to HDMI Output Upscale Converter(Aluminum)

For my elderly father who recently bought a new smart TV and wanted to connect his old DVD & VHS player. The new TV only has digital HDMI & USB inputs and his old player has analogue phono, scart and S video outputs. I avoided the cheaper more basic units on offer as I wanted to maximise my chances of converting with the minimum of video and audio loss and without any issues. I'm pleased to report the converter was very easy to set up and worked first time. It's nice and compact, so once connected it can be tucked out the way leaving him to use his old DVD & VHS player as he did before which he enjoys more than all the new content via the smart apps!

I had problems with other HTMi converters for my Nintendo 64. Mario Karts worked fine but I had a shaky screen with Golden Eye and Diddy Kong Racing. This unit solved any issues and had the N64 working properly. My only gripe is the power lead is extremely short. Which is why its got a 4 star rating otherwise I would have given it a 5

... which was ... Audio visual technology seems to have finally settled down - with bluetooth/wifi connectivity/HDMI being the standards that have stuck. Unfortunately, along the way for the last few years, a whole bunch of technologies have been adopted then left behind. This was particularly the case with camcorders. Ours, with cassettes of precious memories, had connectors that we could no longer connect to any TV, computer or any other device. So the goal in buying this was to allow us to get output from the camcorder to something else - yes, to the TV, but more to the point to another small electronic device which can save the video straight to a memory card. It does this admirably, and we have retrieved the content of the cassettes.

Doesn’t work with goldeneye, just flickers constantly

Used this for my PAL Nintendo 64. Not mentioned in the product description, but mentioned in the manual, is the following: "Motion Compensated 3D Wavelet Video Coding Technology is applied to make the converted picture rich in color and more vivid." In practice what this "feature" does is dramatically amplify all of the colours, making the picture far too brightly-coloured and actually really ugly and lurid. Regular blues and greens become sickening neons. There is no documented way to switch this off. The box should just pass the picture information through as accurately as possible. Not a fan.

Excellent converter let down by the fact you have to alter the aspect ratio on whatever device you've plugged it into. I used it to output a laserdisc player to a modern TV and the results were better than the expensive machine I was using, however, its failing is that there's no way to change aspect ratio. If you want to change from 16:9 to 4:3 you have to do it on your TV or projector each time, and then reset it afterwards. There's an alternative device from Amazon US which solves this issue.

Easy to use

Ottimo prodotto e fa egregiamenre il suo dovere. Converte in hdmi sia a 720p che 1080p. L'ho restituto solo perché poi alla fine non mi funzionava la scheda di acquisizione hdmi comprata insieme a questo oggetto.

It works as advertised. I'm using it on a vintage DVD/VCR. I had to use my higher grade Composite Cables because the cables that come with this are the cheapest that I have ever seen & created a hum sound when I tried them. With good Composite Cables & a good HDMI cable the picture & sound are great on the DVD & VCR. I'm getting the best picture by using the 1080p setting on it.

My husband’s old original Xbox system uses RCA AV & an S-video connection. Unfortunately flat screen TV’s these days do not come equipped with an S-video input. This converter is the perfect solution. Quality of the picture and audio are perfectly fine. Highly recommend this converter for any old gaming system requiring conversion on a modern TV.

Para os amantes dos Laser Disc, os conhecidos (e esquecidos) LDs, essa traquitana é uma solução interessante e de valor justo (se comparado com outros conversores que prometem a mesma coisa). Consegui conectar o meu velhinho LD a uma TV 4K Samsung e o resultado foi uma resolução adequada e cores vivas. Acredito que o mesmo se dê com velhos videocassetes, videogames e DVDs pré-HDMI. A entrega foi rápida, o manual de instruções, em inglês, completo, e a instalação sem surpresas, uma vez que todos os cabos vêm com o conversor. Única queixa: o plug da tomada, padrão europeu e, por isso, é necessário um adaptador para o padrão "jabuticaba" brasileiro. No mais, recomendo.

On On n’a pas malheureusement la même qualité vidéo que sur les anciens téléviseurs munis d’une prise péritel Svidéo. C’est mieux que rien pour l’utilisation sur les téléviseurs actuels avec une connexion HDMI à moins de vouloir investir dans un convertisseur qui coûterait plus cher que le magnétoscope !
