I have decided to make my own central vacuum system for my home instead of buying a ready unit. After reading for months, I have decided that making my own central vac would be much less costly, and much better quality. I was to the point where I needed to decide on what type of hose to use before installing the piping in the ceiling and walls. I needed a flexible hose that will retract into the supply tubing. The Hide a Hose style. I figured for the price, if this hose didn't work I can use it as a shop vac and garage hose. As soon as I opened the box and pulled on the hose I knew this was so much more than I expected. There is no doubt that this hose will work just as good as the Hide a Hose, at less than half the cost. This is the best purchase I have made in years.

I purchased this hose to connect to my shop vac in my basement. My large basement that has a lot of shelves and other items that make the maneuvering of my shop vac difficult. This hose solved the problem. It is a very durable hose that will take abuse and last a very long time. FYI: A little tip if the connector going into your vac is loose. Take some masking tape as it is thin and easy to remove and put one wrap around the connector. This should make the connection snug. A definite BUY! in my book.

Connects fine to a blue and grey ShopVac from 15-20 years ago that I used to suck muck out of a 3" pvc pipe that carries rainwater from downspouts to the house.

I like the flexibility of the hose, connections were easy, hose is ver well made. I love the length, you can work in one room and the vacuum can be in another, or even outside, out of hearing range.
