What is the drop-protection rating? other speck products mention a "x"-foot drop-protection. how many feet is this one rated for?

Sorry I don’t know the rating, but I dropped my phone from about 5’ and it was fine. It was a little difficult to remove from the case (needed to use without the case for astronomy) so that’s a plus. I really like the case, easy to hold with the ridges on the side.

Does a tempered glass screen protector fit this case? If so, which brand is best?

Yes it fits... I have one on now but I don’t know which one it is. I believe any will fit, it gives you a little bit of space around the the tempered glass when you apply it anyway so they don’t even touch.
