The cooling sun protector works great. It keeps my ears and back of my neck from getting torched while I'm working on a roof or doing exterior metal framing. It definitely helps keep me cool and gets ice ice cold after soaking it in the ice water for 5 minutes. The one thing I will say is don't ring it out as much as it says to. In the hot sun it will get dried out within an hour or two. The cover will still be cool to the touch but just doesn't work as well once it starts drying out from the heat and blazing sun, by leaving it a little wetter it definitely stays colder longer. It's definitely worth the buy and my coworkers who have bought it on my recommendation all love it and have thanked me for the recommendation

I had been using a cotton bucket hat, then a bucket hat with cooling material I wet down with water. Neither worked very well in the really hot weather. I also tried cotton hats with brims and ventilation holes, but the top of my head kept getting hot. Not enough ventilation.This cooling neck shade is designed for a hard hat. A hard hat has an air space between your head and the hat, so there is air circulation which allows the water to evaporate and cool your head. After a while the neck shade would actually get a little warm, even when wet, but it still worked better than the bucket and other hats. More water and waving it around would cool it down.Last, I recalled that a pith helmet had a similar design as the hard hat, but a wide brim. I bought a Sun Safari Pitch Helmet and it worked well with the cooling neck shade. Thus the pith helmet and the cooling towel are now my go to for when I got outside in the hot sun.

Ok works but not great

My husband works on cell phone towers. Which means that he's in the sun for long periods of time. He climbs a lot. He said it didn't keep him cool at all. The velcro grab his hair.

Works well until it needs to be cleaned. No longer stays cold after light cleaning.

Ordered these for construction worker outside in summer heat. He loves and is loyal to these brand and swore by these keeping him cool. The ones I just received look the same but they do not work as well. The gel that was inside in previous ones that helped these stay cool for hours was missing. I am not sure if the product has changed how they’re made or if we got bad ones.

Perfect to cool down your neck and head when it's really warm!!!!

If you have a five year old working in construction, then this is for them. Being 6'1", this item doesn't cover my neck down to my shirt collar. Decent material, and decent cooling properties just too damn small for actual human people.

Works great when it's wet, but without water its stiff as a board.. I mean like a 13 year old boys jerk sock stiff.I Unusable without being soaked first. Works well to cool down, just not quite what I expected or what I was looking for.

I actually used this product to keep my pekingese cool during air travel. Passed security with them dry & wet them before boarding. My dogs lay on them in their travel bag & they stayed cool for the flight
