34065 Caulk Keeper Tips, 2-Pack, 1 Pack

Good idea!

These are without a doubt the VERY BEST caulking tip covers I've found. The keep open tubes of caulking fresh for MONTHS.I bought a pair of these at one of the big box stores a few years ago, but was never able to find them again. Very pleased to find them on Amazon.For some reason, it's cheaper to order two packs of two than one pack of four. Seems wasteful, in terms of packaging.

I hesitated buying these because they seemed a little expensive and they are, really. They really are exploiting a good idea. I mean it's basically just a piece of plastic, albeit a well designed one. But they do an excellent job of sealing a caulk tip and do it now, instead of getting off the ladder, finding some packaging tape, and carefully sealing it with two applications of the tape. For professionals that don't use a whole tube of caulk it's a great time saver and money saver if the caulk happens to be of an expensive type. To the homeowner that does all his own work it's fantastic. I am painting my house and don't want to do it again so I am using the best caulk I can find which of course means expensive. No more tape or wire-nuts (that don't really work anyway). Other than it being a little messy when removing from an open tube this is a great product.

These are the best caulk tips I have ever used, so far. I bought them a few years ago and really liked them when I first used them. Over the years, people have borrowed or I have lost them. I found the card off the original package and decided to check Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised to find these here. Homax must have bought out the patent from PermaSeal (I think). Regardless, they are awesome. The only consideration a user needs to keep in mind is to cut the tip off the caulking tube far enough back so the integral center rod in the cap will fit into the hole and still have the cap fit snugly over the tip of the caulking tube. I really like this design because it seals both the inside and the outside of the caulking tip with one simple device.

Just make your own out of wax or aluminum foil or whatever. These get clogged after only a few uses and kind of feel like a waste of you are planning to get several uses out of them. I wouldn't buy them again.
