Q: how does it handle the wind and rain?

The first year I had them a storm ripped the eyehook straight and almost pulled it out of the siding of the house. For the last 2 years I put springs at each point and have it very tight. Now whenever there's heavy wind and rain the springs take the force and it goes back to tight as soon as it calms. It's a great way to do it.

Q: How have people been attaching it? Do they hold up well to wind/weather? Thank you.

There are many ways to anchor this--see youtube, pinterest, google. I found a great way to anchor it to my RV and a tree and side of building and it endured contstant desert winds in excess of 60mph, a monsoon dropping 5" in 4 hours, and other weather indignities. Dropped temp in RV down by ~8-10 degrees on that side. It survived the spring & summer in the Mojave--so its durable. But it will stretch a bit so that's why the recommended hardware can be useful.

Q: Is this the real size?

The canopy is true to size as far as we are concerned. I don't know if the manufacturer allows for the hemmed edge (check "finished size" if available), but the canopy is quite large.
