Great surfactant, particularly for crabgrass, but not really better than the non-ionic types
Probably the most commonly used surfactant to augment the action of your weedkillers. It seems a little more expensive than the non-ionic surfactant so I would go by Price alone in choosing one.

Makes sense
Makes sense why people buy this. After testing - MSO is definitely more powerful than the same tablespoons of non-ionic surfactant. And with MSO + NIS + herbicide - the herbicide actually works at its rated dose finally. Not sure you can justify the price of MSO though. It would be cheaper to just mix a NIS a bit heavier like 1.5 tablespoons/gallon. If you want to experiment or youโre killing mature weeds like large crab grass - get this. Otherwise meh. Time-Line Iโd say plain herbicides take about 7-10+ days to know if they worked. Herbicides + NIS takes 5 days to see results. Herbicides + NIS + MSO saw decent results/trend at 3 & 1/2 days. Very hard to pour compared to the Non-Ionic Surfactant. Currently testing this side by side vs. a surfactant. Comparing Dicamba with MSO vs. Non-Ionic. And 2-4D with MSO vs. Non-Ionic. Non-Ionic is currently much cheaper. Both require 2 teaspoons per gallon. Aka. 0.67 Tablespoons, aka: 1/3 Fl. Oz. On the plus side, MSO is much easier to see where it has been sprayed compared to Non-Ionic Surfactant. You have to know what you're looking for though. You're looking for a glossy wet appearance with a slight orange tint. I'm slightly expecting MSO to damage the grass more in comparison to a Non-Ionic Surfactant. But I'm also hoping it damages the weeds more. The only herbicide MSO is 100% required for is Quinclorac and Crabgrass - for everything else it's just a helper. Currently, Non-Ionic + 2-4D took approx. 2 weeks to kill 50-70% of the weeds
