Are these actually filled with cookies or sewing supplies?

As I first explained… You eat the cookies AND then the tin can be used to hold anything. Sewing supplies, new freshly baked cookies or any notion.

What’s in the ingredient list?

Try reading the listing. Hint: Look under “Important Information”.

Do these have sugar crystals on top?

The rectangle and pretzel like one do. But I've noticed the sugar crystals are much smaller than when I used to each too much of these 30 years ago.

about how many cookies are in the tin?

I received a tin of 40 cookies in October 2020.
