the wire length is 8", so you need to buy the universal wiring harness,for example 18,16,14,12 Awg harness.

What type of relay do you need?

I'm not sure why you want a relay. The lite has a ground wire and a power wire. I didn't need a switch because I wired it directly to the vehicle high beam.
