It’s not recommended, as the chain only has cutting teeth on one side. For high-up branches, we suggest using a double-sided saw chain. Check out our Arborist Version 2, specifically designed for cutting high-up branches.

The recommended cutting range for a pocket chainsaw is 2” to 18”. For larger logs, ask a friend to hold one handle and cut together. A folding saw is ideal for smaller branches and is typically limited to logs around 5” thick.

Watch our maintenance video or follow these steps: Use a standard 11/64” round file to sharpen the chain. Clean off sawdust, ensure smooth links, and apply chain oil. For 20 minutes of use every other week, sharpen once per quarter.
