Lemonade Smoothing Scrub

I have years of experience selling luxury cosmetics and fragrances for major retailers. I also have a wife and three daughters who regularly use premium skincare, so our household has considerable experience with products designed for several different skin types. Ole Henriksen has been one of our preferred skincare brands for years, and this scrub is one of the products that the whole family uses. My skin tends to be somewhat oily, my wife’s is acne-prone, and my daughter’s is drier and sometimes susceptible to milia. Despite those differences, none of us has experienced unusual redness, irritation, or breakouts from using it properly. We have purchased it repeatedly because its quality has remained consistent. What makes this more interesting than an ordinary facial scrub is the combination of chemical and physical exfoliation. The 10% AHA formula contains glycolic and lactic acids to loosen dead surface cells, while the finely textured sugar and lemon-peel powder provide the polishing action people normally associate with a scrub. It also includes glycerin, holy basil, chamomile, licorice root, sugar-cane extract, and several citrus extracts. The texture is substantial enough to feel effective, but the exfoliating particles are much finer than those found in many inexpensive scrubs. We apply a modest amount to wet skin and massage it gently rather than aggressively scrubbing. It can be rinsed away immediately or left on briefly, but more is not necessarily better with a product containing both AHAs and physical exfoliants. Two or three applications per week are plenty for us. Because of the acid content, I would introduce it gradually if your skin is dry or sensitive, avoid using it alongside several other strong exfoliants, and be diligent about sunscreen. Having used products from Clinique, Peter Thomas Roth, Charlotte Tilbury, and numerous Korean skincare brands, I think this performs very well within the premium category. It costs more than a drugstore scrub, but a relatively small amount is needed for each application, and the dual-action formula makes the price reasonable. This is not something we used once and abandoned; it has earned repeat purchases in a household with several experienced skincare users. Overall, I am very pleased with the formulation, texture, exfoliating performance, tolerability, and value of this scrub. It is an effective and thoughtfully formulated product from a brand that has consistently lived up to our expectations.
