Aspects 430 Hummzinger Highview Mini Hummingbird Feeder, Red/Clear, 8 oz

I thought my hummingbirds were perfectly happy with my gravity-style feeders, since they came by regularly. But those required a bottle brush and several steps to clean properly, so I decided to try two of these instead. To my surprise, I had twice as many birds in the first two hours of hanging these. The Rufous male flew down to watch me hang the first one, and set up shop right away, fussing at me to go away when I came back to adjust the hook. The Allen male took ownership of the second one within a couple of minutes, and the ongoing antics kept us entertained for quite a while (Both females had a nice time visiting while the males fussed at each other.) The Anna's from our front yard even came by to check these out, but the others told him to get lost. I'll obviously need a third one. Things I love about these (aside from the birds' obvious preference): - Ridiculously easy to clean. Two parts, that's it. The flowers are molded plastic, not attached after the fact, so there's nowhere for bacteria to hide. - No metal. The cheap models I've tried (with metal) all seem to rust within a couple of weeks. - They don't leak at all. I mean, *at all*. I've tried other saucer-style feeders that leaked terribly, but these are sealed tightly. - They hang straight. Again, others I've tried (off-brands) never hang right. - 360 degree viewing, for both me and the birds. I've read that the birds prefer this style for ease of seeing predators, and mine seem to agree. And I love that I can see them no matter where they perch. I understand that there's a knock-off of this brand that has some problems, but I'm pleased that both of mine appear to be authentic. I'll be buying more for the Anna's and whatever other hummers decide to visit.

I had the old traditional hummingbird feeders for several years. Then suddenly and literally overnight, both feeders were completely covered/swarmed with honeybees. Thrilled to know my yard is bee-friendly, but not thrilled that they took over my hummer feeders. My hummers would try to approach but never land. After days of this, I took the issue to my Facebook birding group for advice. I was told by one of the experts that the traditional feeders have water pressure from the upper globes that cause the water in the dish to rise up to the top of the holes. This enables bees to drink the sugar water. Once they discover it, they stay around. I was advised to give up my traditional feeders for dish-style feeders and not to fill it completely to the top. The bees cannot reach that far to the water but the hummers can. Plus I was told that nectar guards will also help keep bees and wasps from the water. I then went through several inexpensive dish-type feeders but found that they never hung right - after screwing in the hang-hook, the dishes would not sit level and all the water would lean to one side. It is also challenging to get generic nectar guards that fit generic feeders. So back to the stores they went. Finally in desperation I bought one of these Aspects dish feeders from a local store because my research showed they had reasonably good reviews AND because I knew that Aspects nectar guards would fit. Voila! The feeder was easy to put together and easy to fill and clean. And it hung level. So I then ordered a second one off Amazon which - Voila! - also hangs level. Two for two. Plus I got Aspects nectar guards which are easy to install. Each feeder has a good center ant moat also. I still have a bee or two intermittently circle around the feeders (I guess they can smell it maybe?) but just one or two bees do not deter my hummers. It only took a couple days for the hummers to return to the new feeders. One thing - if you get the nectar guards, I would recommend briefly poking the end of a paper clip through the opening of the guard tip just to make sure that the opening is fully open and not stuck/sealed shut from the manufacturing. A couple were slightly sealed but it was an easy fix. I am happy. My bee problem is under control.

THIS IS THE PERFECT FEEDER I have bought so many over the years tried them all. I use several very large ones and got now 10 of these... they are fast easy to clean and refill the only one I will use I get a large amount of humming birds. I have all the sizes. ... PLEASE watch you the knock off brand of these being copied. Did the homework for you all! This brand fast east to fill no bees, very few wasp. When I see I just lower the level tiny bit. Also aspects window feeders are Amazing I use 5 of them now ... I have bought at least 7 ( family/friends/gifts) LOVE AND So do birds easiest feeders ever to clean. Only one the tiny one the all hit first. There always seems to be some the can’t get to on bottom.... no big deal since I have so many. Love the WINDOW ones best & the HIGH VIEW. UPDATE I still highly recommend theses feeders over all others on the market. I was wondering if I could get a few 8oz. Bottom (3) on 8 oz. Mini high view replacement parts. ...the neck where you screw the rod into has cracked. I’m very careful not to over tighten them. I also had one bottom of rod brake. How could that happen? If you could replace I’d appreciate.. I do use my feeders all daily and wash them and since these 3 are out of order I’m refilling more often. total 16 now Love these and my birds do too. Only reason I don’t get the larger is that I do have one and feeder seems to lean to one side after it goes down.. so I love them all but the largest only for that reason. But if putting on post it be great. I can’t do that . I do however when going to me gone over a day. I will continue to buy for myself and gifts best ever and I can clean fast.. Buy these but the company has informed me that there is a copy cat version. So I will be careful on future orders.

I chose the 8 ounce model so I can place more feeders in my yard to attract more of theses beautiful little birds! I can't say enough good things about this feeder. I had tried the 8 ounce hummzinger feeder with the lower perch, which I bought at a local store- had to return because lid was wobbly and they only had a couple in stock and both were that way. Aspects makes great products with lifetime guarantees so had I desired to go with the other model, I am sure the Aspects co. would have got me one that did not have the problem, but..... In the meantime I had gotten my first of this model and there are several reasons I like it better- mainly the high view perch and also the shape of the base- no right angle areas to clean- also this model is able to use the nectar protector tips (but I have not found the need for them yet). I have 2 of these up and have one more coming. The first one I got did not hang level when the hanger was screwed all the way in (another review I read reported the same problem) but I did not want to give up- so I returned the one with the problem (which Amazon did very promptly handle my return). The two I have now are perfect, well made and hang level. Most important, the bummers love the feeders. Bees don't get the nectar. The feeders do not leak or drip. They are also great for me- easiest to clean of ANY hummingbird feeder I have ever had (and I have had multiple other types). I think they look nice in the yard too and makes seeing the birds much easier. A perfect feeder in my opinion. I also love that they are made in USA. My third one will be here soon. My other favorite is the brand new Aspects HummBlossom 4ounce feeder- I recommend checking them out as well- they are made in same style as the hummzingers. Oh one more thing about this model- the top is the most gorgeous bright red. If you need a bigger feeder, there is a larger size of the hummzinger High View.

I got this so I would have an extra & switch off between the two so the birds wouldn't have to wait for me to clean the old one before getting a new one. I wanted 8 oz since I make a TON of nectar & use 8oz yogurt, etc.. containers & freeze it into 8 oz disks (how to basics below). That way I can thaw one at a time & clean & refill the feeders while only making food every few months. The old style was shallower & the top curved down so the hummingbirds could reach the bottom with their little tongues. This one is deeper & the top & rail stand proud of & are higher than the old base's design. The birds still use it but there is some nectar left over. Usually, they empty it in 2 to 3 days and I replace it with a new one. Now it is hard to tell and I am wasting a bit of food. Both styles leak a little as you carry them so put a paper towel under it as you carry it thru the house or you will leave a sticky trail. Also, for some reason, they keep flying under it & looking at the bottom of this one for an orifice. No idea why... they don't do that with the old one. Random! Anyway, it works well if you need a good hummingbird feeder that is easy to clean. FYI - someone will want to know Save very well cleaned 8 oz plastic containers from yogurt, deli salads, etc with lids I use a 4 to 1 ratio warm tap water (or filtered water if you are on a well) & white sugar Mix water & sugar in a big enough pan that it can be brought to a boil without boiling over & sugar is dissolved Bring SLOWLY to a rolling boil over a low flame. Stir it occasionally. Watch it. When it comes to a rolling boil, stir & then bring it back to a boil. Do this a couple of times. Cover & remove from heat & let cool. DO NOT let it keep boiling or you will end up with syrup or hard candy instead of hummingbird nectar. Lay out your containers & their matching lids somewhere where easy to clean sugar water off of Once it is COMPLETELY cooled pour it into each container up to the 8 oz mark. Put the lids on & stack in the freezer. (FYI - frozen things expand DO NOT fill to the top or they will overflow or explode all over the freezer!) Protips - To save space in the freezer - once they have frozen pop them out of the 8 oz containers & into quart sized individual zipped freezer bags. Then put a bunch of them into a gallon size bag for easy freezer access. I thaw them in sandwich sized plastic tub so the ants don’t get into them. Ants can chew thru the zipped bags (who knew) & then you have nectar leaking everywhere. * This is the only thing I use white sugar for - organic sugars & honey have other stuff in them that is good for us but can be dangerous for hummingbirds and they mold VERY quickly which can kill the little guys * The containers hold more than 8 oz so use a measuring cup & pour in 8 oz of water & mark on the OUTSIDE just shy of 8 oz with a sharpie or you will end up with disks that are more than the 8 oz bird feeder can hold. Dry them before storing them & they can be used over & over. * You can also do the boiling in a pyrex measuring cup in the microwave, but it has a tendency to boil over & that is sooo messy. And big hot glass measuring cups are a pain to deal with. * I decant the cooled mixture into a CLEAN big measuring cup over the sink because it is easier to pour from a measuring cup that a big pot & there is less mess. I just refill the measuring cup as needed & the drips down the sides of the pot go into the sink vs all over the kitchen floor.

Perfect! It did take my local hummingbirds a couple of weeks to figure out this new style of feeder, but they finally got it. Unlike at my old feeder, two birds will sit and feed at the same time instead of chasing each other away. I hung it in the same spot as my original feeder, so the wasps circled it for a couple of days, but they quickly found no access to the nectar and I haven't seen any at all since then. This style of feeder doesn't drip, and I get a better view of these beautiful tiny birds. I'm buying another as a gift.

Very easy to keep clean and fill. My hummingbirds love to sit on the perch and sip the nectar. Ant moat works great. Does not attract bees!

Saw these featured on a morning TV program. After years of struggling with cleaning hummingbird feeders featured in box stores, I had to try these. They are so easy to fill & keep clean. Has a well in the top of the feeder to fill with water in order to keep ants out of the nectar. Works well. Perhaps a little more expensive than the box store variety, but the great design is worth it. I'm so pleased that I gave away my old feeders!

El precio es caro desde mi punto de vista, he visto en otros lugares más baratos pero lo cierto es que es a de buena calidad y en realidad funciona. Vivimos en un departamento, lo pusimos en la terraza creyendo que no se acercaría ningún colibrí. Desde el primer día empezaron a llegar y ahora no paran de pasar a comer. La solución es agua con azúcar. No se debe usar azúcar morena o sustituto de azúcar (los colibríes no están a dieta). El agua cambiarla cada tercer día. Y procurar no estar viendo el comedero insistentemente ya que los colibríes son muy cuidadosos y si te ven viéndolos o que te acercas se van. Claro que volverán pero para evitar asustarlos mejor ignorarlos. Te tocará verlos y ya luego será tan común que no necesitarás estar viéndolos fijamente.

Yo tenia un bebedero de botella invertida hecho en casa, mas bonito pero impractico. Este modelo tiene las siguientes enormes ventajas: 1 - permite que los colibries se paren a beber y descansen mientras lo hacen 2 - no atrae abejas 3 - tiene proteccion contra homigas integrada 4 - muy facil de limpiar y rellenar En general me parece un excelente producto.

I also have the bigger Aspects HummZinger feeder but I prefer this one since I change the nectar of the feeder often so there is less waste.(I have 2 or 4 hummingbirds each Summer) I have bought several hummingbird feeders in the past and this one is my favorite, it is soooo easy to clean, love the 8 ounce capacity and the birds love it!
