Also consider the method of attachment. Screws into solid wood will hold better than plastic expansion wall anchors. Regardless, even with close spacing & solid mounting its still a plastic rail with plastic rollers so if it's really heavy material like fire resistant theater curtains then go with heavy duty metal track.
