Could you stand these upside down and stand them upright on the flat part? I want to use them as bookends.

These are very lightweight so they probably won't work for bookends. They are not made from wood but a plastic type material.

how do you mount these things???

Apply a bead of Construction adhesive all the way around the back edge of the bracket. If you need extra support you can use finishing nails or screws and use a wood puddy to cover it up.

Which size would be best for an over-the-stove mini-mantel?

Perfect finish for fireplace!

Very nice! Good detail and looks like wood but very light weight. Painted them to match our fireplace mantle and only required 3M sticky tack to hold them in place so no holes if we ever take them down. Very happy with them!

They are made of Rezin

He’s little corbels are very good quality. I am going to use them to hold up a small shelf in my kitchen. We are in the process of renovating so haven’t used them yet
