The larger top light is only illuminated when the switch is in the on position. The other lights are always illuminated.

What is aluminium about this product? Product that came is a somewhat thin bendable plastic!?!

This panel is aluminium, 3mm in thickness. It is not a thin plastic, not bendable. It is hard enough for use.

Is there a 3 position switch that can replace the typical 2 position switch?

There is 5 prongs on the back 1 for power, 1 for the bottom light that is on when the car is on, 2 for ground and 1 to the accessory.

for an RV application I would not want any thing drawing power from my battery can the little always on lights be disabled & on come on when pressed?

Search the Internet for a standard rocker switch wiring diagram. The small light at the bottom have their own ground and power supply. You can decide when they’re on or off. The big lights at the top have their own ground, but are powered by the positive lead of the switch. If you hook up the ground, these will always be on when the switch is on. I am planning on adding a switch to my ground labeled “panel lights“
