Is the bag's fabric water repellent?

Not totally. I tend wear it as a backpack and use and umbrella when it rains.

What is the weight and volume of the bag?

Empty weight is just under 3 pounds. I don’t know the maximum when full. I use it as a pre packed essentials go bag for last minute calls from sick family members.

Can you wash this bag in the washing machine?

I'm not sure. I don't think I'd recommend it. I'd spot clean it as needed. I've been using mine for a year now and it has no stains or visible dirt on it. I think the fabric has a stain/dirt protector treatment.
