Brakes suck.
My 10 yrs old LOVES this bike. I, on the other hand, don't. And since I paid for it, my opinion matters more. I was wondering how the front brake was configured to allow for a 360 degree rotation of the handlebars. Now, I know. It's not genius. The brake cable is run directly down through the neck and out at the fork split where it must turn 90degrees to avoid running into the tire. This bend in the brake cable leads to a brake level too hard for even me to pull tight enough to stop. Now to the rear brake, it squeals loudly.Really, really loudly! I think it is caused by the machined grooves on the aluminum rim where the brake stoppers grab. They resonate and sing (squeal) louder with increased pull pressure.

The breaks are a damn nightmare.
This bike is absolutely not what we expected when we purchased it. I have had to buy 3 different types of break levers and A few hours of trying to adjust the cables they are still extremely hard to pull. The cables are not freely moving in the cable housing. It is absolutely impossible to adjust.

the bike looks absolutely amazing. Mags looks great
From a kid perspective, the bike looks absolutely amazing. Mags looks great, black on orange looks awesome, and who doesn't like pegs?I really want to love this bike, but the breaks suck hard. They squeak extremely loud and I can't get them to stop my kid well. I'm now left trying to either find a new bike where the peddles don't spin freely or figure to avoid these hand breaks or find better quality breaks to retrofit. It's not safe now for my child.
