This item is about 7" long by about 6" wide at the legs - and the body is about 1" thick not including the head. It's small but a nice size for a small breed puppy. My dog is 5 months old now (and about 5 1/2lbs) and still plays with hers.

The purring sound just lasts a couple minutes and you have to squeeze it again.

I wouldn't buy it since you can't choose the color you want.

Q: It says touch activated. Do I have to turn it on, or can the cat touching it turn it on on his own?

You actually have to squeeze the nose area of the cat to turn on the purr sound. My cat likes to have her cat treats on the Purr Pillow tummy while it purrs (I lay it on the floor).
