It comes supplied wit some screws and a small L shaped bracket.

Is this filter housing Bisphenol A (BPA) free?

The NSF 42 Certification in the User Manual does not help to answer this question. "The NSF/ANSI 401 addresses the ability of a water treatment device to remove up to 15 individual contaminants..." can you bypass the filter once it is installed?

No. The filter should be installed after the main valve to the residence. If you want to bypass it, you have to add another valve.

Is there a way to know if the filter cartridge needs replacing by looking at the cartridge?

I used this on a well system. The way i new to replace the filter was if the filter had turned a dark grey color. For my use, this was approximately once per month. An average 5 micron filter is all you need, typically.
