I needed a brake controller (and 7-pin wiring harness) for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU so I can tow a camper. I got the wiring harness from MOPAR, but after a decent amount of research on brake controllers, I opted to go with this REDARC solution. And I am glad I did! I will not be able to speak to the installation experience or instructions since I had it professionally done at a shop that does that type of thing. However, they said that the install went smoothly, the instructions were detailed and that they had 0 issues. I only know that it works perfectly for me and there are 0 compatibility issues with my setup. I also like the fact that I can easily adjust the brake controller on the fly if I need to. Which, I will report, I did not find necessary once I got everything dialed in. All of the components seem to be made of high-quality materials and I have confidence that this will last for the lifetime of the vehicle itself. The unit is secured in place behind my dashboard under the steering column and cannot be seen. The control knob is located just above my driver's side lower speaker (see pics for reference). While not stock, it looks like it is supposed to be there and is a very clean look, in my opinion. Overall, I am super pleased with this. 5/5 Stars

This brake controller was designed and built with the consumer in mind. The design of the materials makes it suitable for so many vehicle applications, it could very well be the best option on the market. Whether you’ve got a large load, or you’re like me and have a smaller SUV with a bent towards towing in off-road and technical situations, this controller was built excel in all these applications. RedArc included parts necessary to install the brake controller potentiometer (the small control knob) and the module wherever you see fit! Do you have a standard rectangular switch slot open in your dash? They included parts to fit it right in. Otherwise, if you’re like me, and you are looking for something that is as unobtrusive as possible, but still just as functional AND feature rich as any brake controller on the market, then this is for you! The module will install in any orientation tucked behind dash trim and and the knob can be placed with little to know foot print taken out of your dash. It’s a great product that I am extremely happy with. Easy to install, SUPER easy to setup and operate, and is a totally unobtrusive setup for any vehicle application. For installation into my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLUR, I grabbed some super thin half inch wide / maybe an eighth inch thick aluminum flat bar for about $3, cut it to about 6-8 inches and was able to mount the controller to that bar, and a cross member under my dash trim underneath my steering wheel, and bend it to an odd orientation so it fit tucked away back in my dash, and the module self calibrated even in the orientation shown in the picture. This was a more cost effective and versatile solution than the optional RedArc mounting kit ($25 for a small bar and some screws was more than I could bare, so I went to Home Depot and saved about $20). Then I drilled an ever so small hole in my dash trim to install the control knob. Super simple. Just grab the correct wiring harnesses and you’re off to the races! Great product, I highly recommend.

Works flawlessly in my 25 Chevy Silverado 1500 custom it was a breeze to install and it looks factory almost once you calibrate it to your camper or trailer it’s set it and forget it it is a little on the pricey side but it’s well worth it iv owned a lot of different brands and styles this one is the I’ll ever buy again iv towed my camper and trailers with it a lot loaded down through mountains and stop and go couple stops iv had to make in a fast hurry and it was like I wasn’t pulling anything fast smooth as butter stopping with zero push from camper or skid each time if your looking for the Best Buy it!

A very powerful break controller. Easy to use. So far so good towing a horse trailer with my Audi Q7.

The model truck I bought did not come factory with the brake controller. This model is great and has a very small knob you can mount most places and may never have to use since you can set up the proportional braking. I didn’t test the proportional braking as much as I would have liked. Worked well from what I could tell. I am old fashioned and often prefer adjusting manually. Box for the controller mounts easily. My Chevy came with the plug end to directly connect to the controller and use a factory plug. If you do not have this plug I suggest you buy the OEM style plug to keep a factory look. Otherwise, you’ll need to splice into existing wires. This is vehicle specific no brake controller I know of comes with the factory plugs, so no fault to Redarc here. Knob worked well. LED function easy enough to understand. Read the manual and you’ll catch right on. My ONLY complaint: It is hard to press and adjust the force applied (similar to the pinching style most controllers are). This is a disadvantage of the knob, but that’s also the reason I bought it - the knob is small and fits well where I was putting it. THE BEST PART IS THE OBVIOUS PART! This controller mounts remotely from the button/knob. Less dash space and less smacking your knees into it. These style controllers are the best factory look you can install IMO.

This is a great product! Installation was easy enough and it performs great. I really like the push knob versus squeeze tabs.

Works like stated. Simple to set up. With the right wiring harness it’s plug and play. Very clean looking once installed, you barely notice that it’s installed.

Easy install, includes everything you get for install other than the specific wire harness for your vehicle. Does include a universal harness they you can splice in your self though! Installation was a breeze and it does a great job controlling my trailer and keeping it looking clean inside of the cab of the truck!

Toyota Tacoma Works great and looks factory with the insert that comes with it. I attached the trailer for the first time about a week after installing this and you could see it calibrating for about 2 minutes and then solid blue and with a little turn of the knob to adjust the breaks to was ready.
