I’ve been waiting a while to push the button on getting a leveller. I read many reviews, and whilst they all do the same job prices and quality varies greatly. Lelit have a great reputation when it comes to coffee products, and this one didn’t disappoint. It feels hefty in the hand, and with the height correctly adjusted for my coffee basket, I find I only need a very light tamp after using it. Little to no coffee residue is left on the tool too, so only a light brush (or dry wipe) is required after use. This tool has a high quality feel and I really don’t see how some other companies can charge more than double for the same tool! So if you’ve not guessed already, I highly recommend it.

I've been using this every day 3-5 times a day for the past month. When using it I'm getting perfect consistency in my espresso pulls and I have not had one single channeling, very good to use before tamping. The size fits perfect into my standart profitec filterbaskets. I found out that with some adjustments I don't even need to tamp after leveling. This was done like this: I adjusted the depth of the leveler so it compresses the coffee in the correct depth without using a tamper. Best way to turn the leveler to a very deep setting. Then level a standard dose of coffe in the Portafilter (This will probably not work so good since it's most likely too deep) . Then put a 1 cent (or another 2-3mm coin) on the coffe and put the portafilter into the group head and remove it again without brewing. If the coin is not making a mark in the coffe, you need to adjust the leveling less deep. The perfect leveling depth is when the coin makes a very very weak mark. Wehen the correct level is found you have to dial-in your grind. It needs to be finder grinded than your normal grind. I would make it a good amount finer and work my way up until you're hitting your decried brewratio in your decried brewing time. When this is done you'll be able to make the most consistent brewing of your life without any channeling!
