Tempress White 1115 Cam Hatch Without Lock

i installed a 1115 "dark" gray cam hatch in the bow of my duck boat. the hatch i received is light gray, so if tempress thinks this is dark gray, they are color blind. the cam latch works great, once it is closed it is not going to randomly come open in rough water. this hatch looks great other than being the wrong color. the fitment was off & i blame the template. i cut exactly to the template & it was a 1/16" off, so i had to recut, which was fun. i also think installing with screws would be a fools mistake if putting this into an aluminum boat as many people who use these hatches do. i installed with 3/16" pop rivets, which required enlarging the holes very slightly with the same 3/16" bit used on the mounting surface holes. easy & quick. the rivet method provides a much more secure installation, both from theft, and not having the screws loosen over time. the hatch does leak when it rains hard & when you are washing the boat. not much, but some. i expected this though having read prior reviews. so don't use this for a cell phone or electronics hatch or something. overall i like the hatch, but improvements could be made on color, installation instructions, & water tightness. i would like to see a lower price as well. brown & black should be offered. not everyone has a white boat. they should also make shallower liners, but the shallowest is 6" which will not fit my application. unfortunately, this sub-par hatch is the best on the market i have found, & i didn't want to fabricate my own.

I added this access hatch to the rear under bed storage compartment of my 1999 VW Eurovan camper. It’s wonderful to have access to that area and it’s a perfect fit!

Although these are Great Durable Products, they get dirty VERY easily just from walking around the boat and do not clean off well at all. I installed 6 of these, 1 for the Livewell, 1 For Electric box for fuses etc, 3 for storage and 1 has the built in tackle boxes.

Perfect fit replacing my broken one. Appears to be much stronger. I like the cam latch more secure than the original spring or slam latch

Very sturdy hatch

I used the hatch to make a laundry chute door in my RV. Worked out great.

Color of lids was as expected from reading other reviews. One of the two hatch covers arrived severely warped. The lid will not seal proper when closed.

had purchased these before a few years ago for another boat, was happy then, am happy now.......I like the new darker color...... not quite as dark as their picture, but grey is so much better than white.... doesn't show dirt...George

Onley issue is lid is wrapped and i oderd dark gray and it came in light gray.
