Can you see what you are punching out from above? I need to be able to punch 24 circles out of a sheet - they are logo's.

You turn it over and work using the bottom you can clearly see what you're punching and line it up perfectly

Would this work on plastic milk gallons?

I don't think so. It is intended to be used on cardboard and even if you use it on cardboard it shouldn't be too thick because it is very difficult to get through. The tool is good quality and works perfectly when used properly.

Can you see what you are punch out before you punch it? If I'm punching an image I would need to see if I'm over it correctly

Yes, you can see the image and where you position the circle, by turning it over. Then you can place it just where you need it. I love mine. It is a great punch.

I have both the scalloped and the smooth. Sometimes Amazons picture are incorrect. If you order a scalloped I will ship that one
