Sleep Philosophy Queen Size Mattress Pad, 100% Cotton Mattress Protector

The GOOD news! I have been looking a very long time for a 100% cotton mattress cover that's thin, NOT waterproof and not puffy, and lets me sleep cool. My current pad was very puffy but too hot to sleep on - not 100% cotton. I need a cool sleeping environment as I sleep quite warm. This is exactly what I was looking for! It's not very thick, (which some folks complained about) but that's just what I wanted. It's well made, soft & comfortable, makes no noise, and the skirt pockets are very well made with a nice material, not that cheap stuff that snags & tears like so many others. I see that others have rated it lower due to not fitting their deep mattress pockets. My mattress is 11" deep and this fit perfectly (after washing and drying), so yeah, if you have a deeper mattress, it might not fit. I sure question the advertisement of fitting 16" deep mattress, but maybe I shrunk it a little in the dryer. I will line dry next time to avoid any more possible shrinkage. I am very happy with this mattress pad and think it's worth the price of $44.

I bought a new king mattress and bought a mattress protector for it. I'd only ever used mattress pads but read about the importance of mattress protectors. I love my new mattress but didn't like the way the fitted sheet felt against the protector, so I decided to add a mattress pad. I wanted something very cottony, substantial but not too thick because I didn't want to change the feel of my new mattress. This mattress pad has exceeded my expectations. It does seem to be a bit too tight even though my mattress isn't thick, but I don't care because it's great in the most important ways.

This is a nice pad. If I had to estimate I would say that it is between a quarter inch and half inch thick. Not super thick, but then I don't want or need super thick. I needed a pad as a buffer between my Heated mattress pad and my skin. My heated pad feels just a little too warm even on the lowest settings, so I have found that having a relatively thin buffer pad which I lay on top of the heated pad works best for overall climate control of my bed. My sheet goes on top of this pad. This pad fits the bill, adds a little softness but allows the heated pad to do its job in a more controlled way. What I like about this pad, which is better than my last one, is that it covers the bed surface evenly from edge to edge. My last pad didn't cover the top, bottom, or sides a good 4 inches. It is cool cotton so no heat added to my sleep surface. What I didn't like was the amount of lint. I washed it and dried first. There was a noticable amount of lint in the lint filter of my dryer. Ordinarly that would be fine and somewhat expected, but what I found after placing this on my bed under the sheet was that lint was coming up through my sheet in the spot where I lay on the bed. I have dark, eggplant sheets, so the white lint was quite visible. It was only in the spot where I slept all night from chest to legs. At first I thought my sheets were bad, but realized that it couldn't be that because my sheets are dark and this lint was very white. I stripped my sheets off, put the mattress pad back in the washer and dryer a second time. This time there was less lint in the dryer filter but still some, of course. After placing it back on the bed again it seems to be OK, meaning I haven't woken up in a pile of noticeable lint anymore. Maybe buyers should take heed and wash, dry a couple of times (at least) before placing on bed. I just bought a new Eurotop Serta mattress which is already soft on top and well padded. So getting this pad for extra comfort wasn't even on my radar. That said, it still adds some additional softeness on its own. My new mattress is 11 inches tall, this pad is 12", so with the other heated pad on my mattress plus this it just barely makes it completely around my mattress. It is a little loose actually along the sides because I can't keep it tucked in easily. So if you have a thick mattress, even thicker than mine, take heed it might not make it. The 12" they claim seems accurate with no room to spare.

Washed exactly as instructed and it still shrank. Tried to put it on bed and it started coming apart. You have to be able to wash it and wash it frequently. The material should have been preshrunk or atleast sized to accommodate shrinkage. I wanted to love this protection cover and it being cotton which is what I wanted to help with the overheating most mattress protectors cause. I am disappointed in this product. Our new Leesa mattress is only 13 inches and it did not fit, so I can't agree with the deep pockets. Material was flat and a little rough which is okay since we put sheets on top of it. There was no noise as the listing states it is not waterproof, which is what I was looking for. Can't say how the sleep quality would have been because it shrank. I will be returning it and I will continue my hunt.

I was looking for a thin mattress cover as I have a mattress pad on my bed and didn’t want extra height. This has deep pockets and it fits perfectly . also washes up well. I would recommend this.

I love these, I have one for my bed and one for my sons. They are the most natural fiber option, hey look really nice, have nice padding and work surprisingly well at keeping he mattress clean considering they are not water proof. My bf had a cut that bled through the sheets but did not pass the mattress pad! They are easy to put iver the mattress and fit well and they help keep us warm on cooler nights but don’t make you sweat. They are a good value considering the quality materials. I would buy again.

I wanted a cotton-topped mattress pad that would fit my relatively-thin (8") mattress. I wasn't looking for an "uplifting, sleeping-on-a-cloud experience." Basically, I wanted it to protect the mattress and to be cotton to help prevent - not polyester to promote - sweating and heat. The verbiage for this mattress pad stated that it had a 100% cotton cover - AND a 95% cotton filling - bonus there! The unveiling: The pad was well-packaged in a nice clear zippered bag, so it was easy to unpack. I shook it out - I liked the amount and pattern of the quilting - and examined the tag. It said "All New Material Consisting of 95% Cotton 5% Polyester." WHAT? The description online said 100% cotton cover. I read the tag more thoroughly... it was for just the filling, not the rest of the mattress pad. It's a federally-required tag you would find on any new filling-filled item, such as a bed pillow - "Under penalty of law, this tag not to be removed except by the consumer." So don't be fooled at first glance!! Because... ... looking further, I found a nicer tag which gave the component contents: "Face: 100% Cotton, Reverse: 100% cotton, Filling: 95% Cotton 5% Polyester, Skirt Drop: 95% Cotton 5% Spandex." Very thorough. I washed the pad in our home top-load washer with no problem, and machine-dried it with tennis balls to promote maximum fluffiness. The pad fit perfectly on our queen bed; the "skirt drop" tucked in well and doesn't seem poised to escape. It lays nicely on the mattress and the fitted sheet covers it well. It is PERFECT for us, and I am glad to have spent a few extra bucks on it! Highly recommended!

This mattress protector is exactly what I needed. I have an all‑natural latex mattress and wanted a cover that matched those standards without any chemical treatments, and this one fits perfectly. The quality is impressive — it’s thick, soft, and the stretchy contour design keeps it securely in place all night without slipping. All‑cotton protectors like this are surprisingly hard to find, and this one is absolutely worth the price. A solid, well‑made product.

Nice quality, feels like cotton, good weight. Packaging was so tight I had trouble getting it out without damage. Has an odd smell. Not awful, but not great either. Somewhere between earthy spices and chemical. A night and day airing hasn't made much difference. I'm really hoping a wash will sort it out. I debated between reducing by one or two stars for the smell.

Me gusta la tela de algodón de buena calidad y resistente aunque no impermeable (si buscas impermeabilidad tal vez no sea la mejor opción). La tela de los laterales también se advierte resistente, he tenido otros protectores que terminan rompiéndose por los lados, este parece que resistirá mucho más. Lo he lavado en casa y se conserva en su forma original. Volvería a comprarlo.

Al lavar por primera vez y necesariamente por ser nuevo, este protector de colchón tamaño individual ¡se encongio muchísimo! Espero que en esta segunda lavada no se siga encogiendo, porque de ser así, ya no me serviría para nada. ¿Cunas? ya no tengo. En este momento, todavía no se ha secado. Lo tengo en el tendedero.

This is the second one I purchase. The first one was for my queen bed. I have an all natural latex mattress and wanted a natural mattress cover that did not have chemical in it as it would defeat the purposes of my all natural and expensive mattress. The second one was for my son's twin bed. He is 11 years old and has not had a accident since he was 2 years old and therefore I am not worried about the fact that it is not waterproof. This mattress protector is really good quality, it is thick, soft, the contour is very stretchy and therefore stays snug around your mattress. I think it is perfect. I washed it and hung it dry before placing it on the bed. It's definitely worth the price. These all cotton mattress covers are really hard to find ( I had been looking forever) I am glad to have found this company. All other water proof mattress covers are made of nasty, chemical releasing materials that I chose to stay away from. This one is just perfect.
