I have several books that cover Greek and Roman coins, and some of them are disappointing. But this book is simply the best. It covers all popular ancient coins that I am interested in such as Athens Tetradrachm, Alexander the Great Tetradrachm, Corinth Stater, Lysimachus [Alexander] Tetradrachm, and Jerusalem Temple Shekel.The coins are listed in chronological order, as it should be, not in rank order nor in alphabetical order. I have other book that listed the coins in alphabetical order according to the name of town, which makes me confused to find a particular coin. In contrast, I have no trouble finding a particular coin with this book. After all, there are only 100 coins in this book. In fact, I don't need to know all of those 100 coins. I just want to know some of the most popular ancient coins.I cannot afford to buy any of these coins in this book. I don't even want to buy any of those coins if I have the money since I think they are too expensive. I'd rather buy modern silver coins like American Silver Eagle, Canadian Maple Leaf, or 2019-S Kennedy Half Dollar Silver Proof. However, this book makes me want to buy the replicas of some of those ancient coins. (Normally, I don't want to buy any replicas or "counterfeit" coins).

I'm a huge fan of this book. The coin selection is really interesting, the photos are great, and the peripheral content on collecting is top notch. A great, historically informative introduction to ancient coins.
