Lixit Pet Wide Mouth Water Bottle (16 oz), translucent, 8802

This is my 3rd Lixit wide mouth water bottle. My other two were smaller than this one and had zero problems with dripping/leaking. This bottle is larger, I think for guinea pigs though I purchased for my hamster. I had to try several times to properly fill and seal this bottle so that it didn't have a rapid dripping happening. If this hadn't been my 3rd bottle I probably would have been frustrated and given up. These bottles will drip if a vacuum isn't properly created. I really had to fill this thing ALL THE WAY, to where the surface tension of the water hadn't quite broken and was a little rounded at the top of the bottle, and I had to tilt it so that there were no air bubbles anywhere in the bottle. Once that was done, no more dripping, and the water only flowed when the bottle was being used. So, these wide mouth bottles are still my favorite. They're super easy to clean and my hamster is able to easily and appropriately drink enough water. Some water bottles are just too hard for her to drink from. BTW, this is my 3rd because I have 3 cages. These bottles last a long time!

Finally, they arrived, the first package never made it to my house thankfully I got a replacement and they work so far. I don't put them inside because the rats have chewed the other water bottle so I put it outside. The design is good, I noticed a little dripping but not a big extent but I noticed that when one my rats drank from one, it didn't drip no more. the value for both especially because they come in a pack is not bad at all. It's plastic but durable and seems like it would last.

Update 4/1/1025 This lasted just over one year before it started leaking. Still the best bottle I've ever used. By the way, I don't use the attached sling to hold the bottle up because that's horrible. I use holding cradle from an old bottle that didn't work. Attaching a photo. I've tried MANY different "no drip" bottles. This is the ONLY one that actually does not leak. Super happy. Had it for 1 month before reviewing also.

Our bottle that we had purchased years ago had begun leaking quite significantly so we scoured for one with better reviews as far as leaks. This one is a nice size, the price was wonderful and it feels very durable but I have noticed it is still dripping water into the cage. A lot of reviewers said to allow the water bottle to sit upright as it would be in the cage and to squeeze some water out to create some pressure, which will definitely slow the pace of the drops but this one definitely isn't 100% leakproof. As far as ease of use, it's a thirty second process to fill it and clip it to the side of the cage, which is standard. Super simple. Overall, we are pleased. I just wish we could find one that did not constantly drip into the bottom of the tank, because the bedding gets soiled much quicker when there is water involved.

**Disappointing and Unreliable** I spent days researching water bottles and chose these because they seemed like one of the best options available. I ordered both the 16 oz and 8 oz versions. The 16 oz bottle leaked constantly—not just an occasional drip, but a continuous flow. I adjusted the rubber gasket, experimented with water levels, and tried every troubleshooting step I could find. Nothing fixed the problem. I eventually concluded that I had received a defective bottle and requested a replacement. The 8 oz bottle appeared to work properly at first, but less than 24 hours later, it stopped dispensing water reliably. When I tested it, I had to repeatedly push the ball bearing before any water would come out. There is no way my hamster could have generated that much pressure consistently. A little dripping wouldn't bother me. What concerns me is a bottle that either leaks continuously or stops delivering water altogether. When you're relying on it as your pet's primary water source, reliability is essential. Maybe I was incredibly unlucky and received two defective bottles, but I find it hard to believe that both the 16 oz and 8 oz versions failed immediately for two entirely different reasons. That makes me question whether the problem is isolated defects or the overall design itself. Either way, I don't feel comfortable trusting these for my pet's water source. Very frustrating. UPDATE: got a 16 oz replacement in the mail today - GUESS WHAT? It leaks!!!

My Chihuahua is too small to wander around the garage/workshop when I work, so she has an extra large kennel up off the floor so she can be safe. Even sitting under the fan it is too hot not to have water, but because its a large kennel she romps around knocking any water bowls over. I picked this up based on reviews and was not disappointed, she figured out how to use it immediately too! It's fairly easy to clean and easy to hook and unhook from the kennel, all while still firmly attaching (it does not feel like it can fall off). If you follow the directions and fill it to the top, it does not leak. Doggy is watered, i'm happy, she's happy.

I purchased two of these. One water bottle dripped until the entire bottle emptied onto the floor, multiple times. The other one works great and doesn't leak at all.

i highly recomomend this bottle, every bottle i bought from the store always leakes and when i bought this the leakes are all gone and it holds a good amount of water. i have 19 rats with 2 bottles and it last them 5 days with no leakes

Doesn't leak just fill it up all the way before turning it over it might drip for a minute after you fill it up but it will stop.

Emptied its full contents into my guinea pigs cage overnight BUT it is easy to clean, high volume, sturdy and if it didn't drip continuously then I'd be happy with it. Quite annoyed as it had some good reviews.

Good size that lasts a few days for my bunny. No leaks or other issues. Will buys again.
