I was skeptical when I first used this type of elastic shoe lace. I envisioned that they would be comfortable for a month or two and then lose their elasticity. I was wrong. I now buy these laces exclusively for all my shoes. I seriously love them. I spend time with new shoes to get the tension just right so that I can slide my shoes on and off without loosening the laces, but tight enough that the shoes kind of snap on to my feet with a secure hold. They do this excellently. They stretch under pressure when moving feet at weird angles or high strength motions, or when feet are swollen, but stay snug and relaxed when just casually wearing them. It is hard for me to explain accurately how well these work when you first take the time. I imagine they would be superior for diabetics, runners, obese, wide or large feet, factory workers, etc. I can not imagine myself ever going back to regular laces, and I have yet to have a single one of these fail over years of use. I just buy new laces when I buy new shoes and match the colors.

I've used Lock Laces for over ten years and they are simply the best elastic shoe lace. I've tried many of the generic brands and owned many shoes that came with generic OEM elastic laces. Lock Laces are simply the best. The barrel holds better and the elastic laces themselves retain their form and elasticity much longer than examples from other brands I have tried. Tip: on certain shoes like the Asics Superblast 2 (pictured), the lace holes are very tight and don't allow the Lock Laces to slide through easily or fast enough for hassle-free, fast adjustment. To solve this (admittedly very minor inconvenience), I simply installed some metal eyelets like you can buy for cheap here on Amazon. Problem solved. The Lock Laces slide through enough to quickly go from "running tight" to "lounging loose" with a simple adjustment of the barrel. And, as an added bonus, the look is unique too.

I was recovering from rotator cuff surgery which made it virtually impossible to tie my own shoes. I have a friend who is a triathlete so I assumed he had some sort of quick tie laces on his shoes since every second counts during a race. He recommended the Lock Laces. I have been very happy with them. I now have replaced the shoe laces on all of my athletic shoes with Lock Laces.

I purchased the 3-pack of Lock Laces for my 83 y.o. mother-in-law who can no longer tie her shoes. These laces come in different colors to coordinate with just about any shoe and they are easy to put in. They can be cut to the length needed and they are elastic so they do stretch a little to make sliding your foot in easier. I no longer have to tie her shoes or worry about her tripping over untied shoe laces. Great product!

I own three pair of sneakers, and three sets of lock laces. After recovering from hip surgery, I can finally get my shoelaces tied by myself again, but why would I? Lock Laces never come undone. No stopping in the middle of a walk to retie, and I can easily slip my shoes on and off several times a day. There are two things to be aware of when installing them the first time. You have to be careful not to cut the laces too short, and be sure to get the tips of the laces all the way into the clip at the end. They're a little tricky to reopen to redo it. Worth the money. I'd never use regular laces again.
