Yes, but I water it down good immediately after putting down the fertilizer. It will burn the grass if you don't water it good and immediately. I put mine down about 7:00 p.m. so the water doesn't evaporate so fast.

No, Scotts Turf Builder won't cause weeds. If you didn't do any rototilling first, that is your problem. I don't have weeds in mine because of rototilling first, and then putting down sod. The grass is really coming on now.
