Cousin Jewelry Basics Class in a Box Jewelry Making Kit, Silver Tone Earrings

I purchased this kit back in 2014. I had a great time making the earrings. The directions were easy to follow and come in a booklet form so you can keep for reference. I like that it came with everything you need: pliers, a felt mat, instruction booklet and all the findings. You are ready to sit down a craft as soon as the kit arrives - nothing else needed! I've worn the earrings I've made many times over the past few years and have received many compliments on them. What I was most impressed about was these didn't tarnish! Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from a kit at this price and was expecting the earrings to really not hold up. I mean - tools and everything to make 10 pairs of earrings. I am very happy with this purchase!

I bought the set as a beginner and found the box had all the necessary beads, wires, rings and tools. The mat helps keep all the beads and wires from shifting around, and the tool is perfect for making loops and attaching to the other rings. The instruction manual shows the pieces needed and describes the steps needed to complete each piece, but it isn't a step by step instruction. Still, by reading the guide and looking at the pictures I was able to finish the earrings. I was extremely happy with the purchase.

This is a beautiful kit. Some of the earrings in the kit are not so easy to make. 1 set has taken me days to make, but is worth it. There are are also some very easy ones.

I now bend my own wires, etc, but this is how I started. I was able to make earrings for myself and I still am comfortable wearing them. You could never sell what you make with this, but it will give you a good idea of what is involved in jewlery making.

Great beginners jewelry making kit.

I have purchased many jewelry class in a box kits from Cousin. This one is really bad. The headpins silver comes off when you try to make a loop. If you have to open the loop again to attach to a chain, the headpin will break. The beads are the ones that are for sale at large craft stores for $1 a strand. The silver dangle pieces are very very thin and the silver tone does not match - hard to make a pair of earrings. The instructions are not good either. I really loved the bright glass kit and the natural kit was good. But the silver toned earring kit is terrible quality.

The tool wasn't very useful because the pliers are round nosed and I like to use chain nose pliers as a holder. The fasteners are of ok quality steel. Some of the chandelier accents are very thin and brittle, others are surprisingly good quality. The "pearl" beads are painted plastic prone to chipping. The seed beads are good quality. The foam mat was an excellent idea for laying out, you can stick your headpins right in there to awaiting being wrapped. A good kit for a beginner, except for the tools. You will want to buy a pair of chain nose pliers for holding.

I read in the reviews before I purchased this that it was very difficult to figure out and that the directions were sketchy. BUT, I thought surely 6 woman who love to craft could figure this out. NO WAY!! Maybe if I had more patience. After an hour of grumbling and trying to decipher these so called directions WE ALL GAVE UP! The gems, filigree pieces, glass beads..etc... are very pretty. But I cant get them on an earring. GOOD LUCK TO THOSE WHO BUY!

Coffret qui a ravi ma fille 10 ans. Je l'ai aidé quand même pour la confection car il faut avoir le coup de main pour se servir de la pince. Petit bémol, l'emballage était très aplati et un sachet de perles s'était répandu dans la boite, heureusement rien ne manquait !

This kit met my expectations and then some. It is sure to keep my daughter for whomit was purchased for busy for several days. The pieces it creates will be fashionable and be a pleasure for any woman to wear. My opinion thumbs up!
