Montezuma's Absolute Black Chocolate With Almonds 90g (Pack of 12)

Flavor and texture: superb, provided you like 100% chocolate. I have not found any other 100% chocolates with almonds or orange oil, like Montezuma's. Intense, without the least hint of burnt (as some 100% chocs have). At Trader Joe's they also had the 100% + cocoa nibs, which I can't find anymore :-( We are born liking sweet flavors. Bitter is an acquired taste. Giving Montezuma's chocs a low rating, as some reviewers did because they didn't like that it's bitter, is nonsense. Go eat Lindt 70%, enjoy it, and rate what you know about!

I love this chocolate. It is worth the wait for it to arrive by mail from the UK. I have ordered five times now, and it always arrives in excellent condition. I will continue to buy Montezuma's Absolute Black extraordinary chocolate.

I usually love Montezumas 100% dark but This order of chocolate(12 bars unfortunately ) tastes like its past its prime in a big way. Expiration date isnt until june 25 but the bar i opened today tastes like its sat in a hot warehouse for a while. It does not taste fresh. It does not melt in your mouth. Taste isnt terrible but its certainly not delicious either. Will not buy this bar again. Buyer beware. No refunds. What happened Montezuma?

9 days from overseas, not bad! What was I thinking ordering chocolate in the summer? Arrived on a 96 degree day in humid Baltimore and I'll have to say, very little sign of any melt! Regular chocolate would NOT have fared so well. That said, the orange is very good, the almonds stale....no doubt due to summer. So order the orange in the summer....(citris, right?) Leave almonds til fall! I will still finish both bars by the end of the week! I love this dark above all other, especially with the nibs!

This was my fault. This chocolate is very bitter. Maybe you could use it in cooking dessert or something, but you can’t eat it by itself. Also, I thought I was getting one bar. I got a whole box of them.

After a shock, I remembered that the "Best before" date is in British order I'd day/month/year (unless there's a sticker pasted over it). So, 2/9/2023 is November 2nd. The delivery was delayed, which is NOT good as the weather gets warmer, thus fewer stars.

I really enjoy these chocolate bars, especially since I've gone mostly sugar-free and low-carb. This one is no exception, although if there's a Trader Joe's near you, you're probably best off just picking up a regular Absolute Black there - less expensive and no wait for shipping from the U.K. The almond adds a bit of flavour and different texture to the cocoa nibs, but not quite different enough given the shipping distance.

If you are into avoiding sugar, but love chocolate, this is the one. It is delicious and the almonds are a brilliant partner to the deep full chocolate taste. And unlike chocolate with sugar, this one satisfies the chocolate graving after a couple of pieces and gives the chocolate boost, real chocolate should give! Can only recommend it!

This Chocolate is absolutely delicious! It’s not the cheapest, but it’s worth it because it tastes great quality & actually the best 💯 chocolate I’ve had.
