YARDMAX 21 in. 170cc 3-in-1 Gas Walk Behind Push Lawn Mower with High Rear Wheels

Didn’t think I would love this mower, but definitely do! It was very easy assembly, its size is ideal, wheels are great, and it bags the grass beautifully! I especially like the ease of use all around…example, all four wheels adjust with a single lever!! No more individual wheel adjustments or wondering if they’re all on the same notch! With this, it’s as simple as a single lever! The bag comes off and back on very easily…it also comes with a side shoot if you want that…or, simply nothing on and mulch up your grass. Smooth cutting right out of the box, and after about15 mows, it has started every time, the first time. Pushes easily all around the yard and hills, with big enough wheels. I didn’t want a self propelled wheel system as it’s just one more lever to worry about as you go forward and back…and that’s ok, with me given how easily it pushes. Definitely recommend this mower, for it’s ease of use, quality and overall price! Even looks pretty slick!

THIS MACHINE LASTED US FOR NEARLY 15 YEARS WITH ZERO PROBLEMS !!! THE REASON WE ARE NOT USING IT ANYMORE IS THAT FACT THAT WE HAVE GONE TO CONVERTING TO BATT POWERED ELECTRIC TODAY AND HAVE MADE THE SWITCH. THE "YARDMAX" WILL STILL PERFORM BUT IT'S STILL WORKING !! WE'LL USE IT FOR A "BACKUP" IF EVER NEEDED..

I ordered this because my last lawn mower died. I hear that yard max was a good mower. Well... it's not as good as I thought. The pull string broke last year. My step dad had to replace it. That was a big pain in the butt. The mower is not a one pull start. It take like 3 to 6 pulls to get the mower started. My step dad did some work on it and told me that I got a lemon for a mower. What ever he did to it. It take 3 pulls to get it start, but if you stop the mower, it needs like 10 to 15 cool down time before you can start the mower again. I would not get this mower at all. Its not worth the money at all. It looks like I mite be getting a more reliable mower. This is not it. I had it since April of 2022. Its been nothing but problems. My step dad and done so much work on it. Its not worth it. Im not about to replace the engine when I get just get a new mower for the same price. I 100000000000000% DO NOT reamed this mower. The picture of the pull string is not the original pull string. That's the new one I had to buy. Its thicker and strong then the cheap black one.

Nice mower and built solid. Easy assembly. Started on the first pull and smoked for about a minute then cleared right up. Strong motor easily cuts through thick and high grass without any engine bog down. Bagger works well and easy to use. Overall, very pleased with the initial product so far. The plastic wheels are cheap and light duty material, and I am concerned about the longevity and strength of them. While packaged well, I felt my experience would have been a little better if the needed allen key and engine oil were included in the box. Possible recommendation to eliminate the extra air filter and replace with assembly tool and engine oil.

Very dependable, cuts even longer grass, the drum is all metal not plastic like some other brands.

This is my third mower in 30 years and my first mower without a Briggs and Stratton engine. And I use the crap out of mowers. My lawn has thick grass in the summer and a lot of leaves in the fall. I wanted the most powerful mower I could get without being self-propelled and at a good value. There were a few other mowers out there with similar power, but their cutting heights were limited to 3.50 inches max. This mower allows you to cut as high as 3.75 inches, which is needed for tall fescue grasses. I use the mower as a mucling mower and it does an exceptional job. The height adjustment is so quick and easy, only one lever to adjust all four wheels. It was easy to put together and after putting in the oil, it fired right up. Very quiet motor. For the price, this is a very good value for the power level and features.

I was a little nervous about buying a push mower online and not being all that familiar with the brand but I am glad I did. The mower was not hard to assemble, it's made of good-quality parts and is easy to use. It cranked on the first pull which was nice and so far has every other time I've used it. I have mowed with it about 6 times now, it cuts great and you can adjust the height of the cut with ease. Overall a nice push mower and I would purchase it again.

Mower was NOT brand new when arrived (not happy about that from Amazon). Must have been returned. After first start up, mower was surging and would not restart when warm unless I Primed it again and the bag would fall off when going backwards. After Googling about surging, it seems to be the Idle Jet (I did call tech support and they sent me a new carb.) I noticed that the Idle Jet was off by a little bit and a quick fix seems to fix the surging and restart issues. I had to cut the rear grass flapper about 2" so now the bag will not come off. So far so good, only issue now (and I don't think there is a fix for it), when I go backwards it leaves some grass clippings behind and have to go forward to clean that up...
