Van Camp's Original Baked Beans, Canned Beans, 15 OZ (Pack of 12)

We may not have hot dogs with the beans. However, we do love to have the beans with any other BBQ item. These are good tasting and easy to heat and eat. This is another stockpile pantry item at our house.

I buy Van Camp's Pork and Beans on a regular basis. They are priced lower than other brand name beans. They sell for a similar price as generic and store brand products but are as good as any pork n bean that I've tried. I like to keep them on hand for quick meal sides and especially for cookouts. I usually only buy baked beans for certain meals such as a holiday when I'm making something elaborate to serve to friends and family. In those cases I usually buy Bush's or B&M brands because they are easy to find in larger sized cans and come in multiple varieties I like such as Boston style, Hickory, or Onion. I saw these Van Camp's baked beans at the store for the same price as their pork and beans for the 15 oz cans. I decided to give them a try. I wasn't disappointed. They are not bad baked beans. I would not say they are as good as the more expensive brands I referred to earlier. The Van Camp's don't have the same depth to the flavor profile as Busch's or B&M. However, the flavor of the Van Camp's isn't bad. It's mostly dominated by the brown sugar. There might be a hint of bacon and onion. Overall they are a good product at a bargain price. I'd eat them again. I'd recommend Van Camp's Baked Beans to anyone who likes their pork and beans and the price. It's a good product at a bargain price.

Good value but the flavor wasn't great. Not many beans, lots of sauce inside.

I'm a vet and a military history buff. These canned beans have been around since the Civil War. I love the history on them. I know that's an odd thing to look at and think about. Still it's American. It help soldiers. If it was good enough for them so long ago. I don't understand why it should be something I can't enjoy now? It's Army food.

While my Mom is taking Chemotherapy, I asked her for a list of things that she would like to eat. She asked me if I could find the Van Camp's pork and beans. I told her that I ordered her a full case, and she has had the Biggest smile on her face ever since!!!
