My cat needs to be syringe fed a liquid diet. I was originally using the typical disposable rubber seal syringes that are cheap and commonly available. Those work fine on the first couple of uses, but the rubber inevitably starts to swell after a few uses and become unusable as the plunger becomes very difficult to push through the syringe, increasing the risk, as I found out the hard way, of getting stuck and then suddenly unsticking as you apply more pressure to get it moving, splatting food all over your cats face, which will make her a very unhappy kitty. "Why don't they just make these darn things out of silicone?" I thought, as I wiped my cat's face clean. I went on to Amazon to see if such a thing existed, and I found this syringe. It's a bit more expensive than your typical disposable rubber seal syringes, but it quickly pays for itself with sustainable reusability. I have used it dozens of times now and the plunger still glides through the syringe like butter. My cat likes to suckle on the tip of the syringe like a nursing kitten and the smooth glide of the syringe allows me to precisely control the flow of food so there are never any more face splattering incidents. [Update: Been through well over 100 uses now and still glides very smoothly with no sign of deterioration. If you want it to last and have a steady hand, use an engraver to etch over the gradation markings to make them permanent, because the Syringe will outlast the ink they use to print the markings.]

Best feeding syringe I’ve found. Seal stays as is through hundreds of feedings. Use on elderly pets who no longer can eat on their own.

These are great. We ended up order 2 two packs. We have to medicate out kitty through a feeding tube and these syringes are so much smoother than the rubber plunger syringes that we were using. They don't get hung up and slide effortlessly. Worth the extra $ for the ease of use. Do yourself a favor and by these instead. You won't regret it!

I love the thin o-ring making it much easier to "push". great syringe. problem is the markings wear off very fast and then it's pretty much useless.

Bought these to replace the ‘single use’ syringes from the hospital. (Teen has jaw wired TIGHTLY shut & is only able to take in liquids & MIST BE VIA SYRINGE- between teeth and cheek.) The dumb hospital syringes get TOUGH to impossible to use after a few uses/washes. THESE have now been used & washed multiple times and are still EASILY USED. Teen also said ‘no lingering funny taste’ from these— added bonus. Wish I had found/purchased these sooner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you’re needing to use this type of product longer term.

Quality is great. The oring makes them very durable and the price for quality is excellent

My 14.5 yr old pekingese is living with cancer - salivary adenocarcinoma-20 months after diagnosis. He's been terminal for 14 months when it returned a 3rd time and it spread and is lymphoma now. He's not supposed to be still alive. I have been syringe feeding him if he didn't eat enough on his own and finding syringes that were 50-60ml that were easy to push slurried dog food through was tough. These are so smooth to push and I don't make a mess all over him or the floor as they don't find a slick spot and suddenly squirt everywhere like other syringes did. These are an easy, steady push and he easily eats. Because of tumors in his neck, this is easier for him to eat with his head up. Not even raised food bowls got his head high enough to easily swallow food. Slurried food gives him the nutrition and water he needs to keep a quality of life as long as possible.
