Just got my pair in, do other pairs have a left side closure o the outside of the left pad or does the left pad’s closure also go to the right?

Yes the left side pad goes to the fight side pad closure, but the right pad closer does not go with the left side closure, only when you switch the left to the right and then the right will work with the left closure. Keep that in mind!

Do I have to buy two separate or two for the price of one?

Each item comes with two pieces, one left and one right knee pad.
