Q: What size fits a 40 inch waist ? please.

My husband found that XXL fitted his 41 inch waist perfectly especially when he removed the laces. Hope this helps

They are 100% cotton. Not sure why it also says 30% polyester but this must have been an error when the listing was created.

Totally depends on your inseam. I got 2x” and am 6’4” with a 33-34 inseam and these are more like a 38 inseam. Crazy length, going back.
