TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extender - 1.2Gbps Home Signal Booster, Dual Band 5GHz/2.4GHz, Up to 1600 Sq.ft and 32 Devices, EasyMesh Compatible, One Ethernet Port (RE315)

Instead of spending around $80 a month on a separate internet plan, I bought two of these TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extenders to broadcast our existing internet into my in-laws’ home next door. Their house is only about 8 feet from mine, so coverage was actually pretty easy to extend.One extender is set up in the center of their home in the hallway, and the second is installed on the exterior rear of the house under a patio cover. This setup also helps give their outdoor Tapo cameras a strong, stable Wi-Fi signal.Everything has been working reliably with solid coverage for browsing, streaming, and camera connectivity. It’s been a simple and cost-effective solution that has worked out really well.

We haven't been getting a good WIFI signal in our attached garage and I finally decided to do something about it. I haven't studied this stuff at all, so I'm not very knowledgeable. I just wanted an inexpensive fix for now because we are on the verge of getting fiber optic, and I will probably do some sort of mesh system at that time. I am really happy with this TP-Link extender because it was inexpensive, easy to set up (I used the app, but you don't have to), and it really did the trick for getting a strong signal in the garage! The extender has it's own network, and I wasn't sure if I would have to go and select that network each time I used it or not, but I don't. My phone or device will just automatically connect to either the router or the extender (probably based on signal strength). It works sort of like a mesh in that way, but I'm sure it is slower to switch over than the mesh, but still not too bad. We live in a rural area without good cell phone connection and really rely on WIFI calling, so now when I am working in the garage I don't have to worry. The signal goes well beyond the garage, so the range is very good for our needs.

I purchased these to extend my home's Wi-Fi to a detached garage located about 40 feet from the house.My setup uses one unit mounted on the outside wall of the house and the other positioned inside the garage behind a window. There is almost a clear line of sight between them, with only a few tree branches in the way.In my installation, I saw about a 20% reduction in internet speed compared to the main router. Easy to set up and get started with. Seems to work really well for extending wifi to other rooms and help a tv stay connected, also helps with cameras but there have been small lapses. I would still recommend.

People ae often motivated to write a review when they hate a product, but sometimes, you can be motivated to write a review when you LOVE a product. Such is the case with this review.I must admit that setup was kind of a PIA. I've setup a few extenders in my time and this one took the longest. Even though I already had the Tether app installed, the install would get stuck and I had to start from scratch, again.Even though I was getting mad, soon enough my blood pressure will return to normal and I will forget all about the setup struggles.I just purchased a NO-NAME extender from Amazon which was a piece of trash. My mistake. I should have gone with my instincts and purchased TPLINK from the start and paid the extra $5 for a quality product.First of all, extenders are notorious for killing your internet speed. This TPLINK extender gives me about 90% of my non-extender speed. I consider that very good and something that I can easily live with. The extender that I just returned only gave me 40-60% of my non-extender speed, which is pathetic.The TPLINK extender allows connection at either 2.4ghz or 5ghz. Many extenders give you ONLY the 2.4ghz option.I am using this as an ethernet to Wifi converter, so I'm not extending anything. I have an old VOIP device whcih has not had security updates for years, but it's still working, but i don't want to attach it by cable to my main network for security concerns. Using the TPLINK extenter I can convert this to WIFI and connect to my Guest network with isolation so this will not impose a security risk.Now that it's configured, it works GREAT!! As I said, the speed is 90% and it's reliable. I have tested with phone calls and it seems to be rock solid.I would definitly rcommend this TPLIINK extender, ESPECIALLY if you already own other TPLIINK products.I do not think you can go wrong with this one.

A great repeater if you are looking for a wireless to wireless or wireless to ethernet connection. Setting it up was somewhat confusing and sometimes would just not work at all, making me factory reset the device. Once set, I didn't have to touch anything and it just worked. It worked perfectly for my cameras, android and computer at home. It didn't get hot at the touch and the connection prongs to the wall was solid.Warning!! This repeater's ethernet port DOES NOT receive ethernet from the router. The ethernet port is just to plug it to a computer or other device. Connecting this repeater to the router will freeze the repeater and the application will just not work correctly.

This TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extender is what I needed to boost the weak wifi signal arriving at my desktop computer at the opposite diagonal of my single story home. I attempted this upgrade months ago, but with a different brand expander that didn't work at all, and one of the antennas broke off in my hands during my efforts to try to make it work. This TPLink unit worked great out of the box. Connecting with the TPLink Tether app was smoother than anticipated. Construction of this wifi extender is very solid. Side by side comparisons of the distant and local extender signals verified the increased signal strength and return to a higher internet speed as provided by Spectrum.

I am extremely happy with this TP-Link WiFi extender. Setting it up was incredibly easy and straightforward—it connected to my router almost instantly, and the smart signal indicator light made it simple to find the absolute perfect spot to plug it in.Performance-wise, it completely eliminated the dead zones in my house. The dual-band speeds are fast and reliable, and it handles multiple connected devices simultaneously without any lagging or dropped connections. I also love that it has an Ethernet port for a stable wired connection where needed, and the EasyMesh compatibility is a huge plus. If you need a hassle-free way to expand your home network coverage, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

Setting up the extender is a breeze, and the reception has improved notably. I really like the one-mesh technology, eliminating the need to change networks at home.

Got better connections

A bit compliocated to setup but, 3 weeks in ,worked 24/24.Very happy with it. Ethernet is only 100mbit(about 12 mb/s) but now my internet is quality. Would recommend again.

Me ha dejado impresionado este repetidor, normalmente uno no confía en la calidad o en el propio funcionamiento de estos aparatos pero, me he quedado súper feliz. El aparato es compacto, pero te ocupa todo un enchufe, así que piensa en dónde lo vas a colocar. Sin embargo quitando su largo, el aparto lo puedes poner donde sea ya que es delgado y las antenas se pueden acomodar.Tenía problemas de conexión en mi habitación por lo que la señal llegaba a duras penas haciendo difícil el usar el móvil en la cama y ni qué decir de una consola. Compré este repetidor con cierta duda, sinceramente no confiaba pero me fié de las reseñas y vaya que me equivoqué. Este aparato es increíblemente útil, súper facil de configurar, tanto es así que sinceramente no se necesitan ni siquiera los instructivos, y sin embargo los incluye junto a un código QR para bajar la App Tether la cual está completamente en español y es súper amigable e intuitiva. No te tardas ni 10 minutos configurando el repetidor, una vez conectado y configurado, lo puedes mover a donde te dé la gana. Mejoró de forma enorme la conexión, tengo la señal como si estuviera al lado del módem e incluso tengo mi consola Xbox series S conectada y con una recepción carente de cualquier tipo de lag, incluso hice descargas pesadas como por ejemplo Resident Evil 4 Remake y fue de maravilla. Inclusive me atrevería a decir que más rápido de lo normal, pero esto no lo aseguro como una función del repetidor. En resumen, si estás dudoso, compralo, no te vas a arrepentir y suele estar en buena oferta, yo lo conseguí por un tercio de su precio. Por ahora en su primer día de uso, estoy súper contento. 🩷

Very happy with my purchase. What i like about this wifi extender is that you can change the passwords within the Tether app, something you cant do with the cheaper models. Would buy again if required
