Even grownups love them
I had four new babies to buy for in a short space and came across these beautiful books. I ended up buying two of each-one dog book, one cat book - for each child. These are beautifully done- I will never forget the sixty something Grandmas PORING over them at a baby shower and the other Grandmas impatiently waiting their turn. The books are nice enough to give as a shower gift and were really appreciated by the new Mamas among all the usual clothes and baby blankets. As for the actual kids who will "read" them,, these are sturdy, well made books with gorgeous photos and something happens- a texture, a sound, a pull-out- on every page. As the adult who will read them to the child, some of the pages are quite funny-when you end up reading them multiple times you will appreciate this. As with all pop-up books, these should probably be read to the child as there are moving parts but compared to a lot of this genre, they are very sturdy and should last quite a while. The animals are actual pets and are named on the last page. Classy and fun and gorgeous to look at! The above applies to the Dog book as well.

If your kid loves cats, this is for you.
This is our second copy of the book. The first got really well loved and the cat stopped popping out of the boot. Lots of different pictures of cats, fun sensory play as well. Simple and great for a kid who loves cats.

Fun Book
The media could not be loaded. My 13 month old girl is obsessed with cats, and she loves this book. We “read” the book a few times a day. She especially loves the moving parts - cat waving its tail, little kitten hiding inside of the boot, cat trying to catch a fish. Every page has a “surprise,” there is a lot to touch, to move, and there are a lot of cats. I am glad I bought it.

Cute book, easy read
Extremely cute book that children love, but still fun for adults as well. The text is real simple, only a few words per page, and can be read by a beginning reader with some help (words like "catastrophe" might be difficult). The fun is in the moving parts and tactile effects. Can be useful for getting pre-readers interested in books in the first place. They can flip through the pages and play, and you can read them the book in just a few minutes.

Cute!
Rhymes. Toddler loves this book. We keep it out of reach though so she won't abuse it and wreck it.

Kids love this book!
My daughter was 1 yo when we got her this book, and it soon turned out to be her favorite book! We have a cat at home, so she loved seeing all the life-like cats in this book. The book features interactive pieces the child can pull and press to have the cats do different things like "peek-a-boo" and "wagging tails". It's a large book too, much larger than expected but in a good way. I felt like I got my money's worth with this one...so we went ahead and got the Dog Book too :)

I loved the book and read it 3x already to myself.
The cat book was far better than the dog book... It was far more balanced with interactions and even has a squeaky toy in it = ) Plus the rhyming and topics were fun and I laughed at the cool cat copy cat (even though the image was Photoshopped it was great). So even though I am a dog person, I am only keeping the cat book for my son. However, the cat book is not without a few issues.First, the added fabric to pet runs the risk of paper cuts. Sometimes the fur sinks away from the page while petting it with your finger, so you rub the side of your finger on the edge of paper... which could lead to a paper cut. I found the dog book to be worse in this regard as the cat book tends to have wider cut outs. I almost got a paper cut with the dog book, but not so with the cat book.. but the risk though less is still there. But if you think about it... almost any book runs the risk of a paper cut.Second, there is a cat flying on a broomstick labeled "the witch." I really wish they used some other rhyming word like pitch with a singing cat etc.. I prefer this just to keep the book religiously neutral. I know there are a lot of religious people that would be offended by a witch and would not buy or would return the book for this reason alone.Overall, I loved the book and read it 3x already to myself. Loved the flaps that opened, loved the moving tabs items, loved the range of cats, and loved that tabs could go in or out so you had to pay attention to which way the arrow was facing..
