MAJOR Docusate Sodium 100mg Stimulant-Free Laxative, 100 Count (2-Pack)

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the OTC medication game, this is the generic of Colace. It does the exact same thing as Colace, for much less money than Colace. For me, personally, this laxative is equally effective to others such as Ex-Lax or Dulcolax, but without the cramping or urgency.

Bought this to use on my cat, after checking with my vet. My cat gets hard stools sometimes and can't pass them. Works great.

Such a tiny gel pill for so much relief!

It seems to do what it’s supposed to do. It doesn’t necessarily make you have a bowel movement but it seems to keep things softer, like it’s supposed to. After playing around with it a little bit, it’s fairly easy to figure out when to take it.

When taking opioid containing meds, often the secondary consequences are constipation. I have e tried bisacodyl, Miralax, Metamucil and enemas. Nothing has provided a relatively predictable effectiveness as this without creating diarrhea. The number of caplets you take should be moderated by your size. I am 5’11” about 182 lbs. Four capsules in the early evening assures an easy bowel movement late morning or early afternoon about 12-20 hrs later. Your reaction time maybe different, but that is a general description. Also, drink plenty of water or other liquids when you are taking these as that is how the softener works.
