Pentair EC-160301 Clean & Clear Plus 420 sq. ft. Cartridge Pool Filter

So far so good! The water in my pool looks crystal clear. During installation, I noticed that the female thread in the high flow relief valve was damaged and wouldn't allow the pressure gauge to screw in correctly. I contacted the seller who promptly sent me a new relief valve as well as a pressure gauge. 5 stars for excellent and responsive customer service and a good working filter!

Read all the reviews about the packaging and broken parts. The item weighs approximately 75#’s so which results in cardboard wear and tear. The box was delivered with minor wear to the exterior. Inside, the parts were intact and in good shape. The reason I went this route was for cost savings. My old filter housing is 15-years old and failure of the housing is not what I wanted to wake-up to one day. My suggestion is read the reviews carefully and you will see failures occurring from 12-17 years. This is an easy project for the house owner since it has 2-unions to deal with and two O-rings. Apply a little pool lubricant to the union and your done.

Product & packaging was delivered damaged and all of the hardware and stickers are missing. Box arrived open and chunks of the box were missing. Completely unacceptable for such an expensive product.

Good price, good quality. Manf packaging sort of sucks, not meant for this type of shipping, other places wanted to ship freight. I got this one from ups, box was beat to hell but everything was in there, so I'm happy.

Easy install and it works great. They say clean every 6 months but I clean them every three months with a hose and it takes half the time to clean them. Don't need a pool guy anymore.

Filter arrived in a pretty beat up - falling apart box. Fortunately, the only damage found is one filter cartridge. Trying to get just the one damaged filter cartridge replaced. (Not sure how well that will go..)

Registered product. Pentair only warrants products purchased from and installed by professional licensed dealers. Otherwise the install was easy wilt no problems. Same unit I have been servicing as a homeowner for 15 + years. As you can see the warranty ( 1 year ) is outrageously expensive. My last Pentair product!

I replaced my old Pentair DE filter with this one. The biggest challenge in the retrofit, was routing the PVC pipes because the inlet and outlets on this filter are reversed from the old DG filter. Otherwise, love everything about this cartridge filter. No more messy and toxic DE to deal with. No more DE constantly leaking into my pool. And the cartridges in this filter keep my pool sparkling clean.
