How do you replace the flint?

Slip the lighter out of the case. You fill see a small screw in the bottom. Grab a small screw driver or butter knife and unscrew it. Put aside carefully and drop a new flint into the hole. Then simply insert the screw back into where it was and gently tighten it. You have just replaced the flint!

Would this work with Xikar Scribe lighters?

Why do people who don't know the answer feel the need to reply to questions? If you don't know, don't answer, they aren't asking you! Now, to answer the question, yes, zippo brand flint will work in Xikar Scribe lighters.

how long a flint will last?

All depends how how much you use the lighter. For me I use mine about 6-8 times a day and my flint lasts 2+ months, my husband uses his much more 20+ times a day and his flint lasts about 5 weeks. Hope this helps some.
