Review: Lovely product - I love this product. It is very easy to use and clean. I am wary of using metal product because where i live is very humid and iron/metal rusts on time. But this has maintained its integrity and still look as good as new after so many use. Small particles do come into the tea, but seriously, i dont mind that. Review: Bent out of shape - I used the infuser twice, and noticed after the second use that the top dome was bent upwards away from the bottom. I did not use boiling water, yet the heat seemed to have curled the connection point. I am not comfortable with trying to bend it back per their youtube instructions. Perhaps this is a built in "feature" or I have a lemon. The size of the dome/ball fits in a good amount of peppermint tea leaves. EDIT: 2-4-17. I received a replacement infuser and have used it several times, once with nearly boiling water and it did not warp, twist, or get bent out of shape. I noticed just a bit of a loose seem, but it adjusted back easily with minimal hand pressure. Thanks Don to you and your team for making it right.

I only use it for making coffee
I use it for making coffee. Why? Because I can't find a coffee maker with no plastic and no aluminum parts touching the water. Remember the big BPA plastic scare a decade ago? Well around 5 years ago the University of Texas did a study and all plastics products except one failed the test. It turns out the chemical companies changed the BPA molecule a tiny amount so it can be called by another name, but it's just as bad as BPA in stimulating cancer cells to grow. So, this tea infuser looks well made. It works well, and it is easy to clean. The only negative is I get some coffee grinds in my cup of coffee because coffee is apparently ground finer than tea is. The more one moves the tea infuser within the coffee mug, the more coffee grinds will leave the tea infuser. To minimize the coffee grinds in my cup, I place the tea infuser into the coffee mug, then add hot water from my tea kettle and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I quickly remove the tea infuser (over the sink). Overall I consider this a success. I can live with a small amount of coffee grinds at the bottom of my cup of coffee.

One good cup of tea before it BROKE!
love loose tea and looked forward to this infuser. UNFORTUNATELY IT BROKE at the weld attaching the sliding ball to the handle the first time I used it! It separated with the first slide after making tea and depressing the plunger to empty. Maybe a defective model, but now I am reluctant to invest in another Schefs product. I had hoped for an improved method of brewing since I have experienced alot of splliage of tea leaves with other systems. I had dificulty finding the loose tea leaves I prefer (organic) and the delay prevented my ability to return this product before my 30 day period elapsed. Hope the company is working on this issue; the tea (one cup) was good. I cannot devise a way to repair it on my own. Try a sturdier model with a bit more inconvenience.

am looking forward to using the beautifully designed implements during an upcoming tea party and
Received the classy-looking tea infusers, am impressed, am looking forward to using the beautifully designed implements during an upcoming tea party and, later, for my personal use at home. The infusers' mechanics work well and will be handy to use - so much easier to use than other tea balls I've had that required screwing two parts together prior to use and to unscrew after use, and sometimes being a little difficult to work with while hot or requiring a cooling-down period. With the design of this infuser, there will be no need to deal with a hot tea ball or try to remove the ball from hooking over the cup's rim. This infuser looks like a winner.

this began to have a pretty big gap between the hemispheres and tons of leaves ...
Not durable. After only a handful of uses, this began to have a pretty big gap between the hemispheres and tons of leaves leak out now. No longer useful at all.

I am very disappointed in this tea strainer
I am very disappointed in this tea strainer. Tea leaves fall out as soon as you put them in and close it. The two halves of the strainer part do not meet snugly when it is closed. Once in the tea pot or cup, the tea leaves fall out into the water. I use a tea pot to brew tea so I end up using a tea stainer when I pour the tea, the same as I used to. This may work for some herbal teas if the leaves are large enough not to fall through the gap. The only good thing is that it does hold some of the tea leaves so cleaning up is a little easier. Very disappointed. Update: I received an email from the supplier with an attached video on how to fix this problem. You have to open the strainer and bend it to make it fit properly! I will see how that works. I did as the supplier described in the video, which is open the strainer and bend the basket up to make a better seal. This seems to have worked, the strainer retains most of the tea now. Maybe it would have been better to include this instruction with the item which would have prevented several of the negative reviews about it.

Great Design
Since the latest health news is that our teabags might be killing us, I thought that I should investigate an old fashioned tea infuser. The design of this is unique; the fact that the two parts of the ball slide apart rather than hook makes is very streamlined and easy to clean. My mailman decided to shove this package into the mail slot in the door rather than to leave it on the porch, so when I opened the crushed box I had little hope that the infuser would be in one piece...but it was absolutely fine despite the mishandling.
