How can it fit a standard spigot for garden hose which is 5/8"?

All out door spigots are standard size and thread. The size of your hose doesn't matter. It's the fittings on it. The 3/4" fittings are standard to all garden hoses.

Will this connect to just a standard water hose?

A simple yes... no worries about connections to a standard water hose

Will this fit any wall washer and dryer hook up

All the fittings are standard hose connections, but I'm not sure why you would want to use it to hook up an automatic washer. I use it to manually select the temperature of water I want when filling a tub or bucket.
