Pure Encapsulations OptiFerin-C, 60 Capsules

I recently found out that I am severely anemic due to very low iron in my blood. I have only been taking this supplement (which was recommended by my doctor) for a very short time. However, I am already feeling somewhat better and have more energy with no bad side effects so far. Capsules are small and easy to swallow.

Blood tests showed I was severely anemic. Took doctor’s suggestion of focusing on an iron rich diet without improvement. After researching iron supplements I chose optiferin-c. I take 1 pill every other day as I’ve seen there is some research that that can result in better absorption. Latest blood tests showed I am an no longer anemic after taking these pills for 4 months. I suggest taking pill prior to eating as this pill doesn’t seem to want to make it all the way to my stomach easily. Can have a bit of an aftertaste for a bit, but eating after can help. I’ve had no digestive issues from this supplement. Highly recommend.

This is the first product that has actually helped my RLS! I take it with dinner and most nights I don't have any issues with my legs. Regular iron supplements don't work for me. Highly recommend.

For the first time in my life (multiple decades) my blood iron, ferritin and TIBC numbers are in the middle of normal. Prior they were in clear iron anemia or hovering on the borderline: despite attempting iron sulfate supplementation (very bad side effects), eating high-iron foods, and cooking in cast iron. This took only 4 weeks of every-other-morning supplementation. I did eat a tiny orange with it each time for a bit extra vitamin C, and avoided other food and drink for an hour after. These really, really work, and no side effects for me. Now that I've normalized I plan to reduce to 2x weekly supplementation to allow my MCV etc values to catch up.

This iron is great! It is the only supplement that has actually helped heal my anemia after trying multiple brands.

i am 48, and in perimenopause, and i feel i should say this because low iron can often be mistaken for symptoms of perimenopause. the lethargy, moodiness, anxiety, depression, etc., are ALL symptoms of many things, but when you’re my age, almost any thing can be traced back to hormones. i already take a menopausal supplement that helps tremendously with mood and energy, and a multivitamin, but hormones are always fleeting and changing. in this case, my last few blood tests have revealed that i’m anemic so my doctor gave me a prescription for an iron pill. these things were HUGE and so awful on my stomach. after a week of blowing the toilet to smithereens, i stopped taking them. my doctor was sympathetic but still stayed on me to find something that works for me, so i gave these a try. i’m almost done with the first bottle i ordered so i will be ordering more. they are a lot easier on my stomach and after about a month, i noticed more consistency with BMs. as far as anything else goes, i guess i can tell that i have a bit more energy, but from what i’ve read, a severe depletion in iron takes a while to build up to a normal level again, so perhaps by the end of the next bottle, i’ll see a difference. i have given this 4 stars only due to that and did not expect a miracle to begin with. these are easy to swallow, and i love that they contain Vitamin C as well, because iron needs that to perform its best. i believe they are doing their job and if i continue to take them, i’ll see the results and so will my doctor and then she can hush about my iron levels.

Seem to work. Good size bottle with 60 capsules. Easy to swallow them. No side effects.
