Fits the Manfrotto 055 3 Leg Section Tripod with X Pro 3 Way Head very well
Fits Manfrotto 055 3 Leg Section Tripod with X Pro 3 Way Head.If you are struggling with this or the unpadded bag, it is indeed a hard choice. I've tried both. The padded one is generously padded with thick tough rubbery foam. It will protect the pod well. Its a bit unforgiving, it terms of flex. It's an expensive bag - the price places it as 3*. Functionally it's 4* because the padding is a tad too thick, IMO.If I could create the perfect bag, it would have half the padding of this version and cost a lot less. The unpadded is good, the head end section IS padded anyway, but the sides are not.As no one seems to have commented on the combo, both fit the Manfrotto 055 3 Leg Section Tripod with X Pro 3 Way Head very well. A little room to spare, but not too much (but enough not to be a pain or need special adjustment - just right in fact.

Top part of a bag too wide if you only have a ballhead.
Good quality bag, the zip around the top part could have been zipping up a bit more smoothly. If you are buying it for 055 with two clamps and a ball head - DON'T buy it as the top part is too wide. This bag is more suited for a tripod with a tripod ahead which has protruding arms. My purchase is going back because of this. Going to buy a 75cm version instead (it has a narrower top).I also thing that the bag is too expensive for what it is. Made in China.

Great Bag
This bag is of a much higher quality than I was expecting, and I can now understand the price of £50+. The materials are strong, the zips are high quality and the design is excellent. If you are wondering whether to go for the padded or I padded version, and your issue is not the size of the bag, go for the padded. Regardless of the protection for the tripod, the padding makes it much more comfortable to carry. One word of warning, I bought this bag to hold my 055ProB with a 141 Junior Geared head. It will fit, but it's a bit of a struggle trying to tilt the head into just the right position to accommodate both tripod and legs. A 90cm would have been much better, but I'm sticking with the compact size. I wish Manfrotto would publish a useful compatibility chart to give a buyer some idea of the size of bag needed. Overall, an excellent quality bag that will do the job perfectly. Whether I would now entrust my tripod to an airport baggage handler is another question, and this will be due to the very tight fit in the bag.

80 cm Padded Case is ideal size match for 055CXPRO4 + 410 Junior Gear Head
Very well made and a perfect length match ( a little length to spare, but not much) for my combined assembly of a Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 (4-section legs) tripod and Manfrotto 410 Junior Gear Head. As most people have said, and I can confirm, the padded bag affords good knock and weather protection for my kit. The (nylon, by the look of it) zip is tight (not too tight such that it won't open or close with ease. But "secure", I'd say) - one round the top circular "cap" section, which is almost rigid, to maintain form, and one along the length of the "barrel" section. One reviewer reported that the top zip was hard to operate. It WAS a little tricky because of its newness and having to close it round the circular top section, but you only really have to do this once, because when it's closed, the two zip "handles" meet at whatever position you have them join. I've found it most convenient to located them at the top of the barrel section as this allows easy placement and removal of the tripod and head assembly without having to open the circular zipped cap section. The zip ends have small semicircular metal loops that will accept a small padlock (not supplied) to lock them together for those who may consider this to be advantageous. The bag carrying strap allows it to be shoulder/ back carried or hand carried. The strap is length-adjustable.The case is larger than I somehow expected, but it's very light, is well-finished in good quality materials and looks "the business". Very pleased. I'm an enthusiastic amateur of retirement age and I expect this will see me out!!

These Manfrotto bags are brilliant
I've been using a Manfrotto bag like this one for about fifteen years, and it still looks smart and is very sturdy. I've had this particular one for a couple of years. The design is updated from the other one (which I'm still using, on a different tripod), and it's improved in various ways. The long and short of it is that you can keep a decent sized head on the tripod and put it straight into the bag. There's also enough space for a shotgun microphone in a windshield, cable and a boom holder inside the bag, which is great if you are shooting video, which many DSLR users are doing these days. The styling is smart. I have no hesitation recommending it.
