3 number c string some times making noise , how to fix it?

You may be asking yourself, what is a baritenor? A baritenor, in my dictionary, is a tenor ukulele tuned rather like a baritone, that is, in open G6 (DGBE). It turns out that this tuning, with a high D (a baritone ukulele would have a low D, one octave lower), was the original tuning of the first tenor ukuleles. It has the advantage over the conventional C6 tuning (GCEA) that you can get GCEA by putting a capo on the 5th fret and still get a perfectly functional scale length of around 12 inches, close to that of a soprano uke. This way, you can lower the overall pitch of a song by putting the capo on a lower fret, something you cannot do if the uke has C6 tuning, or you can play songs conceived for the guitar, which tend to be in G. Remove all the strings and store the 1st and 4th strings (thinnest) since they won't be used. 2. Get the fattest string from the extra strings package (a 3rd), plus a wound low-G string. You can get the latter individually, as part of a low-G string set, or use a classical guitar 4th string (diameter should be 0.027 to 0.030 inches). 3. Reinstall the strings in this order: 1st (E), the original 2nd; 2nd (B), fat string from the package; 3rd (G), wound string; 4th (D), the original 3rd. 4. Tune to DGBE (with a high D, so it still sounds like "my dog has fleas"). With new strings, it's best to tune them one or two semitones higher than normal and let them stretch overnight. Doing this on the Aklot added a couple extra challenges, though: 1. The manufacturer ties the strings in pairs at the bridge, rather than the more common double-knot-on-each-string method. This means that strings must be removed (and installed, if you want to do the same) in pairs: 1+2, and 3+4. I'm not a fan of this, but I installed the new strings also in pairs since this ensures that they won't slip out at the bridge. 2. The saddle is compensated, meaning that it has ridges so the scale length is slightly different for each string. I found that, for the conversion to baritenor, it works better if you reinstall the saddle the opposite way from how it came, so 1st and 4th strings have the longest free lengths (see the picture). After that, I can say this uke is a beauty. The solid top gives it a nice sustain, and is thin enough to not reduce the volume. Fretwork is smooth and on spot. Only a little departure from true as I go up the neck, even after putting a capo the 5th fret. The action is a little high at the saddle (normal with saddle-mounted pickups), but it can be sanded down easily. The grooves in the nut were a bit narrow after the conversion, resulting in a high action at the nut, but they can be widened easily with a blade and some care. Both saddle and nut are made of bone. As advertised, the tuners are very good. I also tested the electronics. After installing the batteries that came with the uke, you can plug it into an amp, and it has a nice acoustic sound, quite faithful to what the naked ear hears. Need I say that the color is nicer in reality than in the pictures? It's a deep orange with a matte finish and a wooden sheen. Easy in the eyes and in the hands. It makes it look smaller than it is, with good results. I have 30 other ukuleles, all with different bodies and tunings, and this is now my favorite. It's going to travel with me this summer (fits in the luggage) and accompany a lot of songs.

This ukelele actually arrived three days after I placed the order . Much quiker than I anticipated . It has a beautiful finish . After tuning it , it sounded very good . It loses tune in a short amount of time , but this is normal until the strings stretch out and relax , about a week tops . For the price , this is a quality item . It has strap buttons ,but the supplied strap fits the sound hole and not the buttons , not a big issue for me because Amazon has some really nice straps at a very reasonable price . The built in tuner ( acoustic / electric model ) is spot on for tuning . It turns green when in tune . It comes with a nice cleaning / polishing cloth , one plastic pick and one felt pick . Extra strings are supplied and fit through the body and to me this system will make re-stringing easier . There are tutorials on youtube regarding this .The nut and saddle are bone , not cheap plastic . It even comes with two batteries for the tuner . All in all , a very nice entry level uke at a very reasonable price that catches the eye and sounds good acoustically or through an amp . I like it and recommend it highly . Oh yeah one last thing , the instruction are well translated and includes a chord chart and some songs , and it was very well packaged .

I bought a Soprano Ukulele (Pure Tone), & whilst it was nice it was too small for my big hands & fingers - On my 1st Uke Club Session I borrowed a Tenor Uke and it was great. Once home so checked out what was available and ordered the Aklot Tenor Ukulele with the built in tuner, pre-amp, & starter kit. The Uke arrived next day and I can honestly say well worth it. The quality of the wood is great, it doesn't have a thick layer of lacquer, it has just enough to protect the wood and still produce a warm sound. The included strap does let the looks down a bit, it's a chequered design, and not really to my tastes, but hey, it's there if you want to attach it (there are many Ukulele straps to buy for under £4 if you shop around) The case is lovely and padded with a pocket at the front that is big enough for the included booklet & extras supplied. This is a comfortable & easy to tune Ukulele with the built in tuner (takes 2x CR2032 Batteries which are supplied) - there is no markings to tell you which way up the batteries go, but if the tuner doesn't work quickly remove the batteries and insert the other way around - this is a slight oversight, it just needs an identification mark so you can fit the batteries easily. The batteries also power the pre-amp if you are going to use an amplifier; yes you have can Electruc as well as a great sounding Acoustic Instrument! Very happy, and for beginners very accommodating. Find someone to learn with and watch some YouTube tutorials there are some great videos out there to help you play the Ukulele even if you have only just picked it up for the 1st time. Word of Advice - when buying your Ukulele, don't go for cheap & pretty, look for a good hard wood body, that is simple to tune, and one that gives a nice Tone when played. Enjoy!

Dopo aver restituito due ukulele (di marchi diversi tra cui uno alquanto blasonato) con evidenti difetti di costruzione, ho deciso di acquistare un Aklot, spinto da un po' di recensioni positive e dalla speranza di trovare uno strumento quantomeno decente. Beh, al di là degli accessori che sicuramente arricchiscono l'offerta, ma che lasciano il tempo che trovano, vorrei dire dello strumento in sé. Suono la chitarra e il basso e da tanti anni possiedo, compro, vendo, suono e provo strumenti, ma non mi ritengo certamente un esperto, seppur inevitabilmente un minimo di esperienza l'ho acquisita. Se siete dei neofiti e non vi interessa diventare nell'immediato dei professionisti dello strumento, acquistatelo ad occhi chiusi. Lo strumento è bello da vedere ed è fatto abbastanza bene... Si poteva certamente fare di più, ma a questo prezzo dubito si possa trovare di meglio in giro. I legni di corpo e manico son belli, il suono c'è, sia da acustico che amplificato e sicuramente l'accordatore è una gran comodità e funziona bene. Comodo, ma non esageratamente (si potrebbe forse far abbassare un pelino la selletta limandola) ma assolutamente suonabile, l'avrei preferito con un legno differente sulla tastiera. Per quanto riguarda l'accordatura, consiglio di pazientare una settimana almeno...le corde passano e sono annodate a coppia all'interno del corpo dell'ukulele ed è normale che fino a quando non si stabilizzano e i nodi siano stretti in modo definitivo, ci siano problemi di accordatura, magari anche solo ad una corda. Io ho avuto problemi col DO, ma dopo una settimana il problema si è risolto. A distanza di un mesetto dall'acquisto, mi sono appassionato allo strumento e inevitabilmente avverto la necessità di uno strumento più serio, con delle caratteristiche differenti, ma - ripeto - si tratta di uno strumento economico, dal rapporto qualità-prezzo ottimo e non di un giocattolo. Ukulele tenore Aklot assolutamente promosso!
