Good to view sports ?

I think these small, but powerful binoculars would be perfect to use for watching sports. I'm actually planning on using my pair this coming weekend for the Army - Navy game!Otherewise, I've used them to birdwatch and also on a riverboat cruise to view the scenery. Worked great!

Do these have UV protection?

Yes they have multi-coated optics.

How can I see close up? Having a hard time seeing close up.
