Does this smell like alcohol to anyone else? I wonder if I just paid way too much for 35 cents worth of rubbing alcohol.

It does smell like alcohol for the first few minutes. It says that in the instructions though. You are supposed to spray it 15 minutes prior to exposing your dog to it. Worked great for my black lab when she is crated for a longer stretch. She stays much calmer now and seems a let less anxious when I return. Like the spray for her bed much better than the plug in. I didn't see any change in her anxiety with the plug in.

HOw often does the spray need to be used to be effective. How ling is it good for, each spray?

The spray lasts about 20 minutes to 1/2 hour for my dog. Each dog will be different. I found spraying about 8 squirts on a bandana tied loosely around her neck calms her very well. Lin

Will this work in a grooming salon?

I don't know about grooming salon myself I bath my dogs at home but I can tell you that my Veterinary Clinic uses it on every dog when they arrive. At home I used it and it DOES calm down my dog. The one I bought this for I would spray on her pillow (allowed to dry) when I would need to crate her she definitely calmed down. My older dog I am sure could smell it also because even he calmed down. You definitely have to allow to dry because it smells from alcohol, once it's dry people can not smell it.
