Q: Can you use this to repair wicker furniture?

No. Wicker is made of either rattan or, in some modern stuff, plastic. Fiber rush is a paper product that simulates natural rush leaves. It's a completely different type of construction.

Q: Can this be used to wrap a cat scratching post? I have paper rope on it now and all shredded.

Of course it could. And with time, it also will be shredded. It's made of kraft paper; which although it has good tensile strength when dry, could, of course be ripped. Sounds like a good use of the rush, though. Good luck!

Q: The obvious question...how much do you need to complete an average chair?

It depends on the size of chair and the type of weaving you are doing, but it will probably be more than you think. Check the sizes of the fiber rush packs. We ordered 3, got 2 the same size and one much smaller. We did 2 kitchen chairs.

Q: How long should you soak it?

Cut a workable amount of rush and dip it in water. DO NOT SOAK it, just a quick dip to make it pliable and easier to manipulate.
