Any hints on how to get beans to cook evenly? I soak beans overnight and follow the instruction, but some beans are overdone and others are undercook

Respectfully, any time I've ever had problems over the decades with beans not cooking evenly it was invariably due to a batch of mixed old AND new beans. This happens more than you might think, and unfortunately a recent purchase of mine of small red beans in 25 lb. bulk are proving to be exactly that. Soaking an extra couple of hours seems to help a little (10 hours instead of 8) and then bringing to full heat and pressure a little more slowly, then pressure cooking one extra minute than you normally would. All those things together will help when old and new beans have been mixed together.

Can someone please confirm that this pressure cooker is induction stove compatible by seeing if a magnet will stick to the bottom? Thanks.

Could canning be done in this if so how many jars and what size?

There was a time when canning using pressure cookers was deemed a safe method of preserving. However, since 2006 Presto has not provided information for canning in pressure cookers. The information used to support canning in pressure cookers was based on research done in the late 1970's. The current recommendation from the United States Department of Agriculture indicates that to pressure can you will need to use a vessel that is specially a pressure canner, which holds at minimum four quart-size jars. Note that pressure canners are generally 12-quart size or larger. Just Perfect!!!!

This is an update to the previous review of two years ago! I love this pressure cooker and it is working just great!! It really is large enough to make a lot for about ten people!!! I really am thinking of purchasing another one as back up to this one because I just don't want to be without this perfect one!!! I definitely recommend it to all!!! Previous review at the time I purchased it: This pressure cooker works very well, exactly like my last one of many years that I was used to. It cooked the beef stew exactly as expected and it is nice and heavy! It's a smaller size than my old one, looks really nice on the stove and it makes enough for a large family. Love it!

A replacement for our electric pressure pot as they are just about impossible to clean properly and they are unreliable for this stove top pressure cooker. This Presto is top notch quality, a breeze to clean and works like a pressure pot should do.

No whistling, only faint sound that usually is the precursor

You require a timer to know if the food is cooked. Whereas in traditional cookers, the weights go off and one can count on the whistle to tell you if the food might be cooked.
