URBAN ARMOR GEAR Case for Samsung Galaxy S4, Black

I first used a UAG case with my Galaxy SIII and loved it. The primary function of the case is of course to protect your phone, and it did this perfectly, but unlike every other case out there, thought it actually improved the style of the phone instead of destroyed it. So when I got my Galaxy S4, this was the first accessory I bought for it. The OtterBox cases work very well for protecting your phone; they are high quality products. But I have not yet seen one that didn't make the phone significantly uglier than it was case-less. So far, the UAG cases on my Galaxy SIII and S4 have withstood every level of abuse I've given to it. Several falls and minor water spills, etc. I haven't ever dropped it from higher than the height of my head, so I can't speak to major falls, but ultimately, it has left my phone in perfect condition. The case and screen protector itself has gotten some scratches over time, probably mostly from having it in the same pocket as my keys. But the great part is when you take the case off and replace the screen protector, you can see my phone is in literally 100% perfect condition, as if I just took it out of the box. It doesn't take very long to get dings and scratches on your phone when it's not in a case, so I highly recommend you buy a case & screen protector WITH your phone, and put them on your phone immediately. With how expensive these phones are, you really don't want to take any chances. I've also noticed some improvements to the UAG design between when I bought my SIII case and S4 case. The SIII case was excellent already, but the S4 case improves upon it by being lighter, slightly lower profile (doesn't increase the size of your phone as much as it previously did) and the outer material is less glossy and more flat, which makes scratches less noticeable. And of course, ALL Urban Armor Gear cases have a 100% perfect cut for all the ports/camera lenses/lights/speakers/etc to fit your phone's every need. Finally, I love how the material on theses UAG cases are rigid, but not too rigid. It's a perfect middle ground between the flimsy rubber cases that are dust magnets, and the hard plastic cases that look & protect better, but are more prone to scratching and slipping from your hand. The UAG cases literally have *all* of the positives of the traditional rubber and plastic cases, but *none* of the negatives. These cases look awesome, protect your phone very well, and keep the resale value of your phone up for when you go to sell it. A UAG case has become a prerequisite to me when I buy a new phone. I do not by new phones anymore until there is an UAG case available to buy with it. The style is subjective, so if you don't like the photos of them, feel free to pass. But if you think they look cool from the photos, buy it now because you will absolutely not be disappointed with it when you see and feel it in person.

My son needed a case for his new Samsung Galaxy S4. I warned him that if I was buying him the phone, he "HAD TO KEEP IT IN A PROTECTIVE CASE". I use a bulky otterbox on my personal iPhone and considering the price of his new Galaxy, I was going to make sure my son kept his phone damage free. Well, I was wrong. I first bought him an otterbox, defender style case thinking he would be protected. Little did I know that he was embarrassed to be seen with such a large behemoth at school or while hanging with friends. I guess you are not cool if your phone case looks like a brick. So guess what happened...you probably already know the result - He would take the phone out of the gigantor case and eventually dropped it and cracked the screen! Ugh...so my quest to be ultra draconian cell phone protector actually caused him to go with no case and tada...broken phone. Ok, I learned my lesson and would not repeat the same mistake again. I went on a quest for a case that was ultra cool, slim and protective.....if there is such a thing. I happened upon the UAG case. It looked pretty good and it seemed tough, and sized right...but would it pass the teenager coolness test? No sooner had he gotten the case, he was showing it off to his friends to some "sweet" and "I want one" comments. My skeptical side had me inspecting this "cool" case to see if it was durable enough. It was!.... As i inspected the UAG case, I was very impressed. Rubber on the ends to provide some shock absorption, a tough shell with a very cool "Urban" look. This thing looks like a tank but is actually very slim and attractive. The fit and finish of this item is very good and people will be asking you "where did you get that" ... it is THAT cool. After a minute of looking at his case, I said "I want one" he smiled and grabbed his phone back saying...."Uh uh....this is MINE...!" I guess that means he really likes it. And that says a lot! I will be ordering one for myself tomorrow. By the way, this case comes with a screen protector too so it is a great deal all around. I highly recommend this as my new favorite case.

This is probably hands down the best phone case I have ever purchased. I do a lot of high octane sports from racing to shooting and this phone matches that attitude. I've dropped it many of times and thanks to the raised surface of the case compared to the phone itself, the screen was never even scratched (then again, it's not a cheap screen iphone). since it's a hard case and gel paired case it really absorbs the impact nicely. The grip of the case is nice too. It's not slippery, but not to gritty or hard which makes it perfect for the hands. The look of the case actually had some people asking me if it was bullet proof just upon the appearance of the case. The pads for the buttons on the case are perfect and firm unlike other cases where you had to push really hard to click a specific button. The holes for the headphone jack, camera, camera light, charger, etc. line up perfectly. In other words this case is Light, REALLY durable, beyond cool looking, and feels great. This is my hands down favorite phone case to which I will buy no other phone case than this brand. In the past I had a gel and hard case phone case, but it broke in a matter of weeks and was kicking myself in the head when I stumbled upon this one. it comes in different colors, as you may know, so if this color doesnt suit you, dont worry. So if you're an adrenaline junkie like me, Get this thing. It'll hold up to what you can toss at it and the look of it makes the same statement.

I like the case a lot, has a small form factor, looks good and most importantly it feels like it would protect the phone. It's a little hard to pop on and off since the case is a tight fit, but does not put the case or phone in danger of breaking. It might be difficult for an elderly person to take on and off often though. The case has holes in all the right places for headphones, IR blaster, both microphones, camera, flash, speakerphone and power cord. Includes button covers for volume rocker and power button, which are responsive and "clicky." Back bottom "screw" holes appear a little deformed, but it's not anything major, and still looks fine. I decided to wait and see if the screen protector included would be adequate before ordering a screen protector from another company. It was impossible to install this one without bubbles, and they did not include anything for removing dust/particles. Instructions for installing the screen were given as 4 vague pictures. It really shows fingerprints pretty badly, but that's pretty typical for clear screen protectors. However, I didn't really expect the screen protector to be that great from reading the other reviews, and mainly got the item for the case itself, which is still good. The poor screen protector knocks it down a star, but the case itself is 4.5 - 5 stars. Would recommend this item to friends/family, but don't expect much from the screen protector.

This is one of the best cell phone cases around in my opinion. The case is set up with a slightly softer outer ring that allows the phone to be put in the case easily. It also allows for easy removal if needed to access the battery, sim card or external memory. Even with the softer outer ring, when the phone is in the case it never feels like it wants to fall out or move around in the case. The composite is very firm and durable and allows a little bit of flex when the phone is not in the case. The back openings are designed for a perfect fit and protection for your camera, flash and speaker. The side buttons are a pliable composite that cover the butts perfectly. I have used this case for many years with my S3 and S4. The only difference that I can see between the S3 and S4 case (besides opening layouts) is the side button cover. The S3 side buttons were 100 covered, but the s4 has a light hole under the side button pads. This is a slight difference and I have not seen any noticeable impact to quality or functionality because of it. To tell you the truth I don't even notice they are their unless I take off the cover. I have dropped my phone on concrete from a standing position, down a flight of concrete office stairs and have had no damage to either of my phones with this case on it. I wish they made a UAG cover for every cell phone.

I bought this case for my galaxy S4 after my new life-proof case broke and I needed something that offered comparable protection. Since replacing my case to this one and using it for months now I can say I love this case. To keep my phone safe until my next upgrade I needed a case that offered something in the following: -Protection -Build Material -Size (how much bigger it will make your phone) -Cost This case hit all my criteria. As far as protection goes I dropped my phone random instances ranging from walking to my car in a parking lot to the linoleum floor in my kitchen. Each time the case protected my phone with no major side effect besides a few cosmetic scratches to the case. The case itself has a plastic like feel but is not slippery. The buttons for the volume and power are also very responsive. It actually feels like you are pressing the button without a case on it at all. The raised edges on the back corners also help protect the back camera when sitting on a table. The form factor of the case is also minimal and not that noticeable. When installed on the phone it is slim and doesn't add extra bulk that some other cases do that make carrying your phone a hassle. Lastly this phone offers all this for a great value. As at the time of the purchase the S4 was already 1.5 years old I was able to pick up this case for only 17.99 when I just happened to catch it on sale. The only complaint I have over the case is just in the back design. In the case there are 5 little fake plastic screw heads to help make the case look more tactical and more impressive. These in my opinion look silly and are not needed, the case would look much better without those there. Overall I am very satisfied with this case and I would highly recommend it to anyone that looks for the same criteria in a phone case as I do.

This can almost be called as a perfect case. It fits great giving the phone a flat base, protection to the screen, and good access to all ports and buttons. UAG Case looks awesome on my Galaxy S4 and I keep getting compliments from others about it. Even after use of more than an year, there is no sign of use on this Case. It still looks and protects great as it did on first day of my purchase. This Case has saved my phone from several drops. I have been using it for more than an year now, and have had no issues with it and it has protected my phone all along. The Case is made of good materials, its very light and adds very minor weight to the phone. The most important thing about this Case is that it does not give bulky look to the phone, like many other life-proof Cases, and fits well in pockets. After this Case is on the phone, you will still feel your phone to be slim and light weight. The grip you get when you hold the phone with this Case on is perfect. The back side of the Case looks amazing and I feel this is the best looking Case out there. UAG will be my choice of Case for next phone as well.

Just upgrade my Galaxy SII GT-i9200 to the Galaxy SIV GT-i9500, Very nice Case, a little more bulky than other slim ones, but it have a lot more grip, feel just right for the phone, it is very comfortable, the audio is not compromise as UAG says, the pictures a just fine too (avoid white out with the flash). Still didn't try on a "real" fall (not planned to do on purpose), the materials are very good, good plastic and rubber, nice finish in all the case. be aware of the scams, i was afraid of getting a fake one, thankfully i receive the original one. very happy with the purchase and i would recommend to any one with a Galaxy S4. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update as of 05 Nov 2014: the Case has been great this months, the phone was dropped around 3 times (2 where from the night table while charging) zero damage either to the phone or the case. Another drop was a from around 1 meter and the phone landed on a corner and bounce around 3 times (like when a coin falls) at the end was facing down I was afraid of the screen (I have seen a lot of comments and people with broken screens on their S4) pick up the phone and again no damage either to the case or the phone. I'm loving the case after all this months the case remain in very good conditions (no fade out or degradation in the colors) the buttons covers still works and looks great. One thing that I would like that the case incorporate in future version (for this or newer phones) is a cap or a lid something that either comes with the case (one piece) or separate as a plug for the charger port and the audio jack. this because you carry around the phone all day and a lot of times is in your pockets whit time the ports (mostly the charger) start cumulate very fine dust. I will look forward for another cases of this brand (for newer phones or tablets).

I did a ton of research before purchasing this case. Ended up getting it at 35 dollars with free shipping. A teensy bit more than I wanted to pay, but I consider it a solid purchase. I wanted something rugged to protect a $750 S4 from midling falls, while being sleek enough to pocket comfortably. The UAG definitely fit the bill. It's strong, lean, and grippy. The reason I bought it was because I not only liked the design, I'd seen drop tests of this thing surviving from 6 feet, yet it barely adds any physical depth to the phone. I was surprised at how small it was when it arrived. The bumper lip is deceptively tiny, but it works. I can say with confidence, as I've dropped it a few times since, that unless you're dropping it on jagged rocks, it's very difficult to get this thing to land directly on its face. In addition, the cutouts are great. I've had no trouble fitting a variety of headphone types, from old angled jacks to straight. No trouble fitting micro USB at all. My lone complaint is that the included screen protector is garbage. It feels thick and plasticky, and it SOAKS fingerprints like it's nobody's business. But that's not the case's fault. If you're going to buy this case, and you want a lightweight, crystal clear, screen protector, you'd do well to buy one elsewhere. Now... a list of the considered competition. The Otterbox Defender: Frankly, its protection was overkill, and it came with an annoying mandatory screen protector that left an air gap begging for dust (as many have attested to). However, if you're looking for something that can take the roughest of tumbles, you can always get the Defender and remove the screen protector, which is only glued in. Just know that you're getting one fat sucker. Great if you're in the construction business or, maybe, you mountain climb on a daily basis. But for daily use? Again, that word: overkill. Have fun removing all three layers if you need to toss it in a workout shoulder strap. The Otterbox Commuter: For the same price, you get dual layered protection, true; however, people have complained that it feels slippy. Also, the thing doesn't have four-cornered bumper protection, which is what, I suspect, allows the UAG to handle its drops so effortlessly. Until I see a Commuter drop test at 6 feet instead of the piddly knee-highs that are currently on Youtube, for roughly the same price as the UAG, I consider the UAG a clear winner in functionality, durability, and aesthetic. Trident Aegis: I've heard good things about the case, but again, I went with the case that has confirmed drop tests. The Aegis looks like it'd be very solid, but I wasn't a huge fan of the overall look. People should definitely check it out, though. Might be your cup of tea. Anything beneath (hybrid armor, candy shell, etc.): If you like the aesthetics, fine. These are good cases for everyday. But if you want everyday looks AND confirmed protection, the UAG wins hands down.

Muy buena relación calidad precio. Es de gran calidad y ofrece una protección prácticamente de teléfono rugerizado. Incluye protector de pantalla tipo film. Es ligera y delgada, pero muy resistente y tienen un acabado con estetica industrial muy bonito. La parte de goma es blanda para absorber impactos. Y la pintura es mate con textura rugosa antideslizante. Recomiendo combinar esta funda con un protector de pantalla de alta calidad y sin duda el teléfono estará bien protegido en todo momento.

A really awesome case! Fits perfectly and looks like no other case on the market, really cool design. Protection is also quite good without adding too much bulk. The only downside is that it's a bit hard to take it off once the phone is inside, but that's not a big deal. Highly recommended!!

Cover veramente solida. Presa per proteggere il telefonino da cadute accidentali (visto che ho un bambino di 3 anni in casa) I tasti si sovrappongono perfettamente a quelli originali del telefonino. In caso di caduta gli ammortizzatori ai lati funzionano veramente bene L'unica pecca (se si può chiamare così) è l'uso dei due tasti in basso...è leggermente scomodo visto che si tocca la cover con il dito.

La cover è davvero robusta e bellissima!! vale la pena spendere qualche soldo in più rispetto alle cover normalmente in commercio.
